Both were great. I saw Tetris in the theater and it was pretty awesome. From what I remember of both though, Tetris was purposefully stylized more to be an action film.

I did get that vibe. I feel like part of the reason I thought it viewed the game so absurdly high was to accommodate the visual effects like when the protagonist plays Tetris on the GameBoy for the first time
I need to see it again for a rewatch. I just remember being blown away in the theater because I wasn’t quite expecting all the action and cool visuals.
Maybe that was part of my issue. I did see some of trailers which over represented the action and overall intensity of the movie. That could be part of the reason behind my jaded opinion.
I’m just waiting for someone to come out with “Treo” because why not at this point
edit:
or maybe “Palm Pre: The end that sounded like a beginning”
Movies about Palm and the Balmer Era at Microsoft would be good.
The YouTube channel Company Man is basically a fount of docu/mockumentary ideas.
This recommendation also works in reverse because I haven't seen Tetris but really enjoyed BlackBerry
I would agree with that. I feel like Tetris is a bit more of a wacky family movie than a documentary but still enjoyable
I really enjoyed BlackBerry. I'm old enough to remember their coming and going, and even had a Blackberry Storm for a while.
Tetris was an awesome political thriller. Blackberry was an awesome dark comedy.
Both weren't what I was expecting them to be but I really enjoyed what they did.
The production value alone on Tetris was so unexpected, but you could tell they did things just to have the pixel transitions for example. If you like Glen on IASIP, you'll love him in Blackberry cuz he's basically Dennis as a CEO.
For me, BlackBerry is closer to Air (also good) because it is a bitter recollection of the truth. And Tetris is closer to Weird (very good) because it is intentionally fictitious and over the top.
Yeah, I have watched both, I liked both.
I already have to deal with QNX support on a regular basis, this won't help
Interesting. Based on reviews I've read, I think I'd like BlackBerry but not Tetris. I'm sad I missed it in theaters tbh
