Caching issue? (lemmy.ml)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by 133arc585@lemmy.ml to c/lemmy@lemmy.ml

I'm loading https://lemmy.ml/c/worldnews@lemmygrad.ml and the username display in the top right is showing other people's usernames, not mine. It showed one, and I refreshed, and now it's showing another. Here's what is showing right now for me:

Here is what I see right now

Edit to add just to show that it's changing: Another one

I notice that a few days ago. However it only happened one time then I refreshed and it was back to me.

Mine's consistently either: showing a random person's username, or showing "Login / Sign Up". I haven't gotten that specific URL to show my username since I posted this.

Very interesting. Have you tried in incognito mode?

Good idea. I gave that a go, and yeah, I'm actually getting random usernames even in incognito.

Could be a caching issue in your browser. If you hold shift and click refresh if it happens again it might clear it up.

That doesn't make sense. If it was my browser cache it should (a) show my username, and (b) show the same username every time. I did do forced refreshes (without browser cache), as well as used an incognito window (where the same exact behavior happened).
