Hey there neighbors,

I use Connect on my phone for the necessary feature but haven’t found a web solution yet. Basically, I’m in dire need of blocking an entire instance, as it’s made me not want to visit Lemmy when at the computer.

To clarify, I don’t need all the features of Connect, just instance blocking in the web browser or a PC app. I'm not looking for a sorting/filtering change to subscribed, again, it's just a single instance I need to remove from the feed.

Thanks for your time!

Some instances that are completely ran by a single bot, you can just block that bot like blocking a user and it takes care of the whole instance. Like lemmit.online's bot. Other than that it's not possible currently other then in a 3rd party app.

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for my current need but will keep the tip in mind for the future.

Lemmy doesn't let you block whole instances as a non-admin user. Your only recourse is to block each community. I ended up using a script that queried all the communities on on the instance I disliked and just blocked them. It really sucks, but that's our only recourse right now.

I wish they would make it possible and/or create a second filter making a distinction between porn and other NSFW.
