The Classroom bathroom introduced in most american public schools was modeled after the prisoncell bathroom due to the lack of privacy and low cost.
Wait, this is actually a thing?
No, only in elementary schools.
What they're getting confused about is that a lot of architecture firms that design prisons also design high schools because - shockingly - both of those institutions are designed around moving large numbers of people to different areas throughout the day.
My high school was designed by one of those firms and it wasn't weird. You could see it in the little details, though. There were exactly two places in any of the hallways where you couldn't see a clock, so nobody could say they ran late because they didn't know what time it was. The architects just decided where they would place cameras in a prison and swapped them out for digital clocks.
In the school district i work in, elementary schools have bathrooms in the kindergarten rooms, never seen one in a high school though

I've only seen them in elementary school classes where students tend to stay in the same class most of the day. But in middle and highschools there is usually a more traditional multi stall bathroom shared with multiple classrooms.
Not in any school I've been to.
Yeah... and people want to argue there is no difference in public schools vs. private school.
You get what you pay for. If one pays for a better education, one gets a better education.
I can guarantee that private school kids do the exact same shit as public school kids. They just have more money, so they can get into more expensive shenanigans, and their parents are able to smooth it over with the cops/lawyers better afterwards.
All the kids at my school smoked weed. Not at the private catholic school next door, though. They all could afford cocaine.
... But no... First, we shouldn't over generalize or stereotype. Although I'm sure some private schools are shit, most are better than shit public schools because they make a lot of money and can afford to higher teachers that aren't inept.. Occurrences like this are much less likely to happen in a private school. Nothing even close to that kinda shit happened in my private school. The kids I graduated with went to college and got a job. I also had many public school friends, and many of them didn't go to college after high school. The ones that did go to college were much less prepared than their private school counterparts.
I realize this is only my own personal experience, but there it is.
