Why not just display "Loading posts" and keep trying without having to keep tapping retry?

Because it isn't free, from the perspective of your Lemmy instance you'll be spam requesting until you find content. Doing it this way ensures you're less likely to hammer an instance.

I actually like this. Gives you a bit of a pause and helps you not succumb to doom scrolling.

I've hidden the lemmit.online bot, which is just a repost from Reddit bot which no-one interacts with, and encounter this regularly.
Sometimes to the point of having to hit retry several times to load the next page.

I'd love for it to retry automatically. I get the spamming thing, but this could be alleviated by putting a delay before trying - it's no different from the time it takes for me to press retry. But having to reach to the bottom corner to press retry is really annoying.
