I'm assuming they're mass sending these to people in a specific area code and hoping to steal credit card info.

Obviously don't go to the URL in the picture

Recently got a phishing email about someone in India hacking my Disney+ account and how to "restore it" by giving them credentials. It was extremely well-crafted and official looking, the only way I got set off was that it was sent to the wrong email of mine, one not associated with Disney.

Phishing scams are getting better, especially with ChatGPT

I got an authentic looking email using a spoofed email address from my host. The red flag was I didn't register my domain name with them. That's the only reason why I checked the raw message.

It's common enough that my State's toll provider has had a banner on their front page about it for months https://www.driveezmd.com/

If you want to file a complaint, the Internet crime control center is asking for information on these scams specifically https://www.ic3.gov/PSA/2024/PSA240412

That's actually good enough that if I was a tourist, I might actually fall for that, dang lol

I'm pretty sure I received a warning about these lately from WSDOT.

I've gotten them before.

I went to the link and it wasn't fake! I've got a free iPhone coming to my house as we speak.
