Want to share a link to a recent interview with Brave's co founder and which I found interesting. Is that something that fits this group or better posted elsewhere?

If it's related to privacy, post it here. In the past you could be attacked for posting a YT link instead of a Piped link but Piped is long dead so you should be fine now.

When I remember to, I try to add a message in the post body recommending Freetube combined with Libredirect, since that still works.

Thank you for this explanation, because I was not picking up what that Title was putting down

Folks who want to view the video using a third party client could always just copy and paste the link, so I don't see any problem

I have automatic redirect (with the LibRedirect-plugin in Firefox) of any YouTube-links so that they open in Freetube. Set up on my phone as well, and it works nicely.

Libredirect is awesome.

I wasn't sure about posting videos in general

I see you've already posted it, but YouTube links should be fine. Traditionally, it was better to post Invidious links; but thanks to Google, this links don't tend to keep working for too long these days.

On the other hand, if a video also exists on media.ccc.de or PeerTube, that would be the preferred option. YouTube is still acceptable, though.

Personally I don't like youtube video posts that copy the clickbait video title and have no description and nothing to add. I percieve posts like those as low effort spam.

I would prefer if the poster could add a good title and summary. Also share what they liked or thought is interesting or worth discussing. That way it is more informative and there is a point made on why I would be interested in watching it. Which would in turn spawn a healthy discussion, which is interesting to read and participate.

But thats just my 2ct. take it or leave it. Cheers!

Edit: Forget my previous comment, thought this was regarding a different post I made
