making it unplayable
Unplayable? It's totally playable, no PSN account can make a game unplayable in a country. You're just not allowed to pay for the game, but that's got nothing to do with playability.

As in you paid for it on steam but you can't log in to activate it so its unplayable
You aren't paying for the game on Steam if it's not available in your region.
Dude, they meant to sail the seven seas to get the game...
I think they were making a pitch for piracy.
Why does Sony keep doing this?
This seems like a problem some FitGirl could solve 🤔
FitGirl doesn't make the cracks tho, just repacks them
NGL it's the only name that readily comes to mind. I'm not deep into cracked games, since my tastes are for smaller games like We Happy Few and Outer Wilds. Steam launcher works fine for those, I'm just opposed to a launcher and account from every publisher. Rockstar, EA, Sony, and others can kiss my shiney metal ass. If I have to create an account, I'm not interested
True, but as soon as a crack appears, they are on the case.
Lol when will John Sony learn? How many days in the office do you think they needed to come up with that harebrained scheme?
I think a lot of people here on social media need a reality check about who is actually participating in the market.
Most people simply do not care about this stuff, they don't need to learn, because the outcry of an infinitely small minority doesn't mean anything to them.
Funny how the "small minority" meant enough to them to reverse requiring PSN for Helldivers 2
They pulled the game from all the markets that don't have it, so the concern brought up by the article still stands.
Their games on PC still seem to be selling pretty well.
It's simple.
If the money gained by selling user data is greater than sales lost to piracy because of the required account, it's a win for the company. They probably figure those countries that can't create a PSN account are lost sales anyway, so screw em, right?
Bastards
It's blatant aggression against ones' own customers like this that really makes me want to take a shit.
