Calling someone a snake is very insulting and disparaging, yet Kobe’s nickname was “Black Mamba”. What is the dichotomy here?

It’s the 2nd fastest snake in the world. The fastest that moves like a typical snake (first being the sidewinder). Please tell me this is a troll post.
