Do you have a watch brand you really like that just doesn’t seem to get that much attention online? Like there are some brands really popular in other countries. I like Enicar, I think their vintage watches are really nice.

I would say Ball watches. Beautifully built. Cool history. Yet I rarely see them posted and have never come across someone wearing one.

They're a well known brand, but they surely do seem to fly under the radar.

If you like heavy-style dive watches similar to classic Seikos then have a look at the Tauchmeister dive watch.

Lip, Yema, Merci, Michel Herbelin, Dodane

The watch I wear that gets the most compliments is my black Casio Diver

Yema. I’m surprised I’m the first to mention them, but I guess that means they truly do fly under the radar.

Glashutte Original. I like pretty much their whole model range, they make some very well made watches, and are a German brand which makes them a little more unique

Withings

Specifically the “Steel” version.

Not sure how this community feels about smart type watches, but these are a great combination of analog and all the useful trappings of a smart watch.

Unfortunately the Steel version is no longer in production but it’s served me well for 7 years.

Squale. The 1521 is a top-notch Swiss diver with a Selita movement that isn’t insanely priced.

Ball watches have a classic look. Not a well known brand.

This might not qualify to folks on here but Longines is the best bang for the buck IMO that people often overlook for brands like Tudor or other mid-lower level luxury. They have several really well made watches with gorgeous designs and interesting complications and they cost like $3500.

They recently got some attention for reducing their GMT to 39mm but the master collection has a chrono moonphase triple calendar for like $3k and it’s just outrageous value for the money.

This is an excellent thread. Saving for when I'm richer

I’ve got an Enicar Sherpa Electric, runs good. Apparently pretty scarce. I found out the company was to be named Racine, but the name was used so they spelled it backwards.

HMT, one of the oldest Indian watchmakers, grossly underrated.

IMO, Citizen really gets overshadowed by Seiko, Casio and even Orient in the online watch community. I've been eyeing the NB1050 which to me seems like the spiritual Sarb033 sucessor yet it has a fraction of the coverage.

Vostok anyone?

[–] settlementfires@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

damasko for sure. you will not get more tech in a tool watch for that kind of money. or maybe any kind of money. they're very nicely put together too. tiny german company that is killing it.

I feel like citizen is really underrated. I love their watches . Also tissot came out with these diver watches recently and boy do they look good , accurate and really really nice to wear. You wouldn’t feel iffy about actually wearing it inside the pool either

Obviously most watch people know Tudor. But to the average person it’s under the radar, and an amazing brand
