With absolute turd in chief Jeff Landry having just won the governorship, along with many other huge Republican wins in last week's state election, I must say I'm very pessimistic for the future.

The oil companies know what's coming and their plan is to go ahead and cram 50 years of extraction and consumption down into the shortest period they can profitably achieve. If the Earth is a bank, they're making a run on it and ensuring they get "their money" before everyone else loses everything in the big crash. And with the entire LA government captured, I think they'll get what they want.

Something i have been saying for a few years now is “we are in the final grift”

Endless growth cannot be sustained, the wealth gap can only get so big before it collapses on itself.

Wealthy Capitalist know this, but egocentric narcissists they are there only rationale is desperately take whatever they still can before the inevitable happens.

I've been calling it a smash and grab. It really seems like they're hard at work trying to squeeze every last bit of profit they can from the current system.
