Seiko SNK803 might be a good option if you’re cool with a 37mm case
Or the current SRPJ83
I am also a lover of this style timex and can say with confidence you will like a hamilton khaki field to bring this feeling back. Make sure you check the case diameter of this one and look to get a watch that is the same case size. It makes it that much better trust me
There's not an off-white Hamilton khaki though, is there? The bright white has a totally different feel to me.
The khaki king is a champagne
It looks loved lol
I took that watch through everything! It died well and honorably.

If you really want to honor that watch, stay with the Timex family.

I think one of the closest in looks would be the accutron legacy
Polar Explorer 😎
not the closest match, but a similar alternative you might like if you’re looking for a nice watch in this style: seiko alpinist SPB123
Check out the Timex Standard
Timex Expedition North Mechanical, my favorite beater field watch. Strong Hamilton vibe but much cheaper and, I think, better looking with its raised chapter ring.
I just bought this Vaer S3 and I am blown away with the build quality. It’s gorgeous in person and feels really sturdy. I also like that it came with two different quick release straps, a tan 2-piece NATO and a surprisingly soft rubber.
It also comes in 40mm if you want something with a more modern fit.
Hey OP, I’ve had this watch over ten years myself, and I love it to death. Does yours still function? If you have any interest in selling, please let me know. It is my daily driver, but has a significant scratch on the glass and I have been unable to find a replacement. Know that it will be in good hands and put to great use.
You’ll love owning a Hamilton
Hamilton khaki field, either the automatic or mechanical version (I suggest the mechanical, mostly bc I have it myself and absolutely love it)
You could track down a white dialed Timex Mk1 Aluminum and then swap the strap. You would still have indiglo!
Bulova Hack.
I love my Invicta. I'm pretty sure it's well under $100
Bulova Hack
Oris BCPD Hank Aaron
Seiko Alpinist
Nothing. That is a great watch. Timex watches are tough.
Seiko 5 Field Watch. Comes in 2 sizes, and a beige / off white color
If you're looking for something different, knot watches are really cool
My buddy found one on Amazon that looked just like this but it was limited release of timex watch. It has a black band super classy and clean
Check out Vaer too, not sure if they have they off white you're looking for but they have nice looking field watches.
Why is there a tachymeter when it isn't a chronograph?
You can use the second hand. Either at the minute mark or at any time assuming the bezel rotates
Timex Expedition.
the new Studio Underd0g piece has the same vibe imo
Tissot 1938 Chonometre
Explorer. Maybe Explorer II.
Studio underd0g will be launching a pretty fun/unique field watch end 2023. The off-white variant could possibly be one of the many options you could consider :) It does have a pricetag of 850 euros tho, so that's not nothing
Hamilton khaki field
Lorus lumibrite. $60 on amazon UK.
First, I'd check the assumption that it's beyond repair. Throw a fresh battery in it and see what happens, then I'd put a cool new strap on it and rock it with pride.
But to preserve the look/nostalgia of your teenage years and remain true to the vibe, take a look at the new Timex Waterbury classics. I bought one for similar reasons, by far the cheapest watch in my collection, and the ONLY one I've ever received a compliment on from a stranger.
Looks like my Seiko SARG005
If you want to go used and quasi-vintage, look at the Eterna Cambridge watches … if you can find one. They seem to have been made in small numbers.
Otherwise look at the Hamilton Khaki and Aviation series watches (which are currently being produced).
Take a look at Seiko Alpinist.
Hamilton Khaki expedition, or khaki field maybe? Are you looking for mechanical or quartz?
