1000% flop. I think might be a flip in there too

[–] Next-Firefighter-753@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope he feels like an idiot for that

[–] RVAIsTheGreatest@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No need for a flopping penalty. No call suffices. Great no call, but an easy one.

[–] BaldSportsFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nah he was just paying tribute to Dick Barnett

[–] RaidenSupremacy4411@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

When a player falls down in a play, 99% of fans will say foul and 99% of the opposing fans will say flop. Truly, the refs should be compensated with millions because they have the hardest job in NBA.

[–] nomadofwaves@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I believe that’s a natural karate kick shooting motion.

[–] daintybarley_deux@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s been studying under the flop GOAT for years now

[–] Karl_Marx_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

LePappa taught him well. Fine him.

[–] Mountain-Way6904@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not commenting on this even, but the NBA has been very unconvincing so far in its desire to stamp out flopping.

[–] quartzguy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sir, you are no James Harden.

[–] byebyebrain@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

LeFlop is teaching him well

Idk why we need a flopping rule…. just, don’t call a foul? If someone flops and doesn’t get their desired result, they’re probably putting themselves/their team in a bad position on the play and that’s punishment enough imo.

[–] ncr39@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Agreed. Let them be shamed for it. Maybe they’ll figure out that flopping doesn’t work anymore and they’ll stop?

[–] ef14@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love Reaves but yes, yes it should've been.

[–] Jscott1423@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So… it’s a “flop” to show the hand-check that happened two different times that’s not being called. For a generation that complains about “well they took hand checking out of the NBA” he sure has his hand on Reeves hip all the way on his drives.

[–] Finger_Gunnz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Imagine if he actually just took a shot.

[–] DesperateComb7326@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Straight from Lebrons handbook. Except he ain’t getting no goat calls…

[–] JimmyButlerOverdrive@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The choad got a big contract and now thinks he’s Harden

[–] DigOlBick99@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nah just a shaqtin

[–] ComprehensiveSwan698@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dude flops more than harden

[–] QualityEvening3466@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes, it should have been.

[–] cleeeeeeeeeetus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I mean, it's a flop. Y'all are in here acting like he straight murdered someone.

[–] ToodleDoodleDo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kicked all the way to the defenders chin. The defender just realized he doesn't have to guard Austin at all

[–] KuzzyPoole@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You could hear someone scream "oh hell no" as he put it up lol

[–] jpk7220@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wasn't the NBA supposed to crack down on flopping this year? Weren't there supposed to be penalties?

[–] Mattoosie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's a flop, and it's cringe to watch, but really he just made the shot way fucking harder for himself for no reason, so I'm fine with it lol

As long as refs don't call it, players will learn to stop doing it.

[–] smughead@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think the no call is appropriate

[–] smughead@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They don’t have to stop the game to call a flop, read the rules. https://www.nba.com/news/nba-rule-changes-2023-24-season#

[–] TennisHive@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

IMO not at all. He jumped ai lettle off balance, fell. It's basically "nothing", "siga la pelota".

[–] NielsenSTL@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So the karate kick with the right leg was a product of being off balance? No, he was desperately trying to force contact…and failed/flailed.

[–] ALazySwing@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think if he did this while contact was being made, it's 100% a flop. Him starting the action without anyone touching him isn't a flop, just weird. but idk

[–] goli14@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Soon on one of those flops he will end up with season ending injury with enough time to think and realize that he can score a lot more by not doing that and avoiding injury.

[–] MrCatFace13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Displaying Taylor Swiftian masculine energy.

[–] thirty7inarow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm not sure I'd call it a flop, but they should have ejected him for trying to kick his defender in the face.

[–] theAlphabetZebra@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] MrBrownCat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love that he did it after Allen backed off making it look even more egregious, what a clown.

Also what happened to the anti flop rule? Should’ve been a tech for PHX and a fine for Reaves.

You already know if they ain’t even pretending to care about this rule in preseason then we’re never seeing in the regular season this year.

[–] TheOneTrueYeti@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes and the reason it wasnt called is only because the foot that he kicked out didnt make contact with the defender.

[–] bmnewman@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I was watching a game the other night and an NBA officiating rep explained the new rule with a visual ie. Marcus Smart. This will 100% be penalized this season due to the unnatural and exaggerated actions.

[–] Valuable-Baked@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Vanilla Harden

[–] Artsky32@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kd oh hell no killing me 😂😂

[–] danj13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It appears from someone that played basketball he’s doing a fade then lost footing possibly. Giving him the benefit of the doubt.

[–] Low-Possession-4491@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Basketball is now soccer with hands, the way these dudes just throw themselves.

[–] MikeLilPauseRodick@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Suns player is lucky he didn't foul AR's foot with his face.

[–] CheatedOnOnce@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So much for the NBA fining this shit. There really needs to be a third party to review the refs blindness

[–] MadDogTannenOW@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maybes it's a new trend on the tok or will be

[–] SeverableSole7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Total flop but he was in the middle of taking a shot, I feel like he’d get the foul if he did that after someone lightly pushed him or something g

[–] tbofsv@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

AWW HELL NAW
