As a Knicks fan, I’m pretty much neutral with the moves they did Donte seems alright if he’s worth 12 million is a different question. Obi had no future with the Knicks and was widely inconsistent so I’m not disappointed they traded him. Personally I was hoping they would have traded Obi and Fournier for Gordon Hayward and not signed Donte as I believe Hayward is the much better player and could play the backup 4 for the Knicks if needed. Personally I’d give the Knicks a C+

B. Modest moves that I think will pay off quite a bit.

  • Trading up from 12->10 to get Cason (my #6 prospect) AND getting Davis Bertans (we need shooting desperately)
  • Signing Vasilije Micic
  • Minor moves to continue loading up on (light) draft capital
  • Nobody got hurt and we were able to see all of our guys play multiple games for good stretches

A+

Traded for Beal

Got rid of Ayton

Put a very solid roster around the big 3

8/10 cp3 move is a W and love the Saric signing, just wish we signed a defensive minded center or traded for one. One trade idea I loved was Kuminga for Finney smith and Dayron Sharpe.

Given that we realistically couldn’t do anything super splashy I’m going with an A/A-

Overpaid Rui a bit and I wouldn’t have gone for Gabe Vincent over Schroder with the MLE, but those aren’t that bad at all. Lucking out with the Reaves contract was by far the biggest W

Yall killed it, solid moves

At least we re-signed LaMelo and didn't trade Mark Williams or something

9/10

Getting Dame is objectively an incredible move despite how sad it was to have Jrue go.

I also feel like the team did as well as could be expected in retaining Khris and Brook, and getting Beasley and Payne for cheap really helped with potentially depth.

Wish we would’ve come up with some sort of “CEO’s son” kind of front office position for Thanasis though to free up a roster spot and Robin Lopez looks pretty washed.

Overall, great offseason for a team with limited options though.

I like all our signings. Don't like losing Poole but I begrudgingly recognize that the situation had become untenable. I fully expect Chris Paul to get injured and fail to complete the season so I'm just hoping he is a good influence on Podziemski.

Like our picks, and the John Collins pick up was really solid. Just need continued development and maybe move on from Olynyk and Clarkson.

We've extended Clarkson, and seem to have him earmarked for a long term vet role.

In theory our ideal move would be to flip THT and Sexton plus picks for a star PG (or someone who can run an offense anyways). They're good players, but at the moment we're a deep team with lots of good players but are lacking top, top end talent. Ideally we consolidate for a really good starter.

Or Keyonte has a breakout season and we just roll with him, lol.

Ehh... a solid 6 or 7. Dejounte re-upping for a lower price was big and really helped us bring in a veteran presence I think the team was sorely lacking. I'm sad we had to give up JC, but that injury of his tanked any upside he had and there seems to be far better spacing on the team now that we don't have that role redundancy in the frontcourt.

If Patty and Wes can make a positive impact on the young guys and keep them from losing the focus they seem to have through these preseason games... well, we might actually perform like the team we're supposed to instead of being held back by the shit coaching we've had for the last 2 seasons before QS.

Feels like an F but more realistically a C+ or B-

Real happy with how the Celtics reshaped the starters and bench units and I like the potential of Walsh. Losing Smart and Timelord hurt, but KP and Jrue make up for that well and offer new possibilities

[–] HoorayPizzaDay@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fine with moving on from Grant and Timelord honestly. Somehow this starting lineup and bench both look better than last year. Our bench is full of variety. Tons of shooters and wings, Queta looks like he's taking Kornets job. We resigned PP and he looks revitalized.

Hawks finally got rid of John collins and his 25 million dollar salary. A+.

[–] Internal_Dish565@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

10/10 getting dame and a new coach to run a whole new system will do wonders compared to our past point guards and coaches

[–] RVAIsTheGreatest@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'd rank the Knicks offseason a little higher than a C. Divincenzo was an awesome add, Hart's extension is very team friendly, and the front office has correctly held firm on Quickley and his extension price and has remained patient and continuing to allow this core to meld. Nothing sexy but they're in a good spot as a team.
