I have a milestone birthday coming up and have just begun the recon mission on finding a piece that will complement, but not directly compete with anything I currently have. Not into overly dressy or rectangular watches. 39-43mm range under $10k. No Rolex, I've had a few and I didn't like the attention they got. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you heard of this thing called "leather"?

I play....guessing its not your thing. In all seriousness, 3 of your watches look very similar from a distance. Get some colour in there...some complications.

+1 for a Grand Seiko

[–] CinderellaManX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d do horrible things for that aqua terra

Something from Alain Silberstein would add a welcome touch of levity to this otherwise quite staid collection.

Something more expensive

Some color. Sinn chrono with salmon dial, Breitling pistachio, Oris pointer date in turqoise blue, etc etc

[–] ShowerWide7800@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would get rid of at least 3.

Another black and white omega. $60k of the same watch isn't enough.

Lower end of your budget, but maybe a Nomos to add some color.

[–] SuperLehmanBros@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That is a sexy collection, coming from an Omega fan.

Gold and green Waldan chronograph

[–] bkh_leung@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Wow, nice collection!

I'm partial to the blue dial seamaster 300 so I'd probably add or swap that with the black dial

[–] a_mimi_nota_meme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not enough Omegas imo. Maybe a Seamaster?

Great collection though. Maybe an Ingenieur?

[–] CFC-12_21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Blue dial maybe. I like that call. That's the front runner thank you!

Maybe a Submariner? Or an IWC chrono? Or maybe something from Sinn? Some people are chirping you for lacking colour and variety but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a “type” and sticking with it. My collection is a lot of divers and pilot watches and I wouldn’t have it any other way - every piece is unique to those who know their stories.

[–] CFC-12_21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ya I've had a lot come and go. I know what I like. The AT is green and the SuperOcean has a nice blue bezel. I'm not a bright yellow or Tiffany's blue kinda guy. Had a 114060 Sub. I never felt comfortable owning it. It is an amazing watch. Maybe perfect. I didn't really wear my other watches enough when I had it. It had to go.

Maybe go with a GMT or worldtimer?

On the off chance you like Omega watches 😉, perhaps the Seamaster Worldtimer?

Get rid of everything except the 2254 and buy a Lange.
