I have a milestone birthday coming up and have just begun the recon mission on finding a piece that will complement, but not directly compete with anything I currently have. Not into overly dressy or rectangular watches. 39-43mm range under $10k. No Rolex, I've had a few and I didn't like the attention they got. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A solid beater watch. Something you can abuse the heck out of and have it still continue working. I’d suggest trying out a Casio GW5000U just to try something a little different. Digital, Solar, radio sync, and multifunctional. Yeah, it doesn’t fit with your style of steel bracelets and dark dials, but it’s a do it all, no worry watch that you can assume is always accurate.

Ya I have a gshock beater. Not that one but something similar. Thanks!

Zenith El Primero would like great next to all of those and would be a subtle but welcomed splash of solid

Whatever you get it should have a black face/dial

I'd like to see a Panerai in there

How about a vintage piece? A birth year watch?

[–] CFC-12_21@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

A great shout. I'm always on the look for something like that too. Appreciated

Dream collection here. I want a Speedmaster and a Seamaster 300 for my collection.

I don't have a bad word to say about either. Both so amazing.

Probably a moonswatch- if you’re going to be a desk diver, you might as well round out the collection appropriately.

Vintage Cartier. Or relatively modern JLC Reverso

I think a Glashütte Original panomaticlunar m would be a nice fit

I know there are a lot of jokes going around, but as a fellow Omega fan and owner of the same SM300, I would suggest an Omega Two Counter like: 329.30.43.51.03.001. Or a World Timer like: 220.10.43.22.03.002. Or of course a Snoopy or 60th Bond anniversary

Something different.

A VC dress watch

Something with a black bezel

[–] briedcan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Titanium Grand Seiko diver. Black face.

[–] Ty--Guy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Something rectangular with a nice strap. Tank or Reverso.
