Ofc it’s only preseason but dude’s been scoring so effortlessly out there

I have little doubt he’ll end up as the best player from his class, but it’s really going to come down to his health.
Kai Jones would disagree

Mobley was 3rd in DYOP last year and still scored more then Barnes…
It’s a good thing careers aren’t decided after year 2 then.
He created for himself much less than Barnes did though

I know it’s just preseason but he’s been so good the whole time. He’s been very assertive and been constantly engaged. I can’t wait to see how the season goes for him. Fingers crossed that sprain is very minor

There are 2 big changes from Scottie compared to last season.
1st of all that 3pt shot has gotten a lot better. He’s shooting it in rhythm and his form has improved. He’s 7/14 from 3 in preseason, almost entirely on catch and shoots. But if he is a solid catch and shoot guy then he’s going to be a legitimate off ball floor spacer which opens things up.
2nd is the shooting assertiveness. He’s starting to act like a 1st or 2nd option every game. 45 shots in 89 preseason minutes. That’s going to be about 17 shots a game for him and last season he shot 13.2 a game. Those extra shots from not having Fred around are going disproportionately to Scottie. He’s going to get 20+ points a game at this rate.
Scottie tends to cook us.
Pascal too, it’s a bad matchup
For sure. Usually the Nick Nurse teams killed us in general. Beal once complimented the junkyard defenses he would throw at him
Looked like little more than a tweak with the ankle. Should be fine with five days before the regular season start.
As said by the rest of you, Scottie looks great in large part because he's really just playing more assertive. He's playing meaner and he's more engaged in the halfcourt....and the Raps are making it a point to push in transition. They got a dude to really do that with quarterbacking the offense in Schroder, we know he's gonna push it, but Scottie himself, Pascal, OG...they're pushing in transition and getting easy baskets.
They ran a weave action play to get Scottie downhill and he exploited a mismatch with Muscala on him for a bucket, he's gonna have the ball in his hands a lot more this season and actions like these allow Scottie to use his size and coordination to get to the basket. The shot definitely looks cleaner too...he's looking like a guy who's taken a real leap this offseason and he's looking like a guy who's gonna thrive playing in an offense with more pace, more fluidity and getting more touches with the ball. Without Fred, he's gonna be shouldering a much bigger load as a ballhandler this season and so far the returns have been good.
