Gift this thing a few days ago. Purchased online. It arrived overseas super quickly. Took the plunge with it. It’s looking like this is gonna be my daily driver and my daily swimmer.

For swimming, I wonder if I’ll always use this or actually get a dive watch. Someone I know recommended a Seiko 007. Those are discontinued, right?

I’m sure the Hamilton with be just fine in the pool, but if your interested in a diver, I can vouch for the Seiko turtle (SRPE93); it’s a beast for the price ~$375 on sale.

It's fine for swimming. You'll probably want a different watch for more active activities (like surfing or actual scuba diving).

The Seiko SKX 007 is indeed discontinued. There's the Seiko 5 line but for actual diving you'll probably want to look at the Seiko Prospex series.

They have a bewildering selection of different models, with nicknames like the turtle, sumo, samurai, monster, etc. (those are all sub-$1000) -- many having a variety of different color options -- plus many other higher end Prospex models (some are $5000+).

Thanks for the info. I’ll start looking into those. No rush, though, because I’m mostly just in the pool at the moment.

I wear this watch as my daily. Had to change the strap after about 6 months because it doesn’t like getting wet, started to smell then it got frayed. Had it on my wrist for about 18 months as a roofer an the pvd has held up extremely well.
