Watching Wemby, I started googling to see who the most recent physical comparable would be.

Bamba is 7'0 with a 7'10" .

Drafted 6th and has done jack shit in 5 seasons. Still just 25 years old but a clear bust.

Did this freak of nature just not have any interest in basketball? Any major injuries? Does seem so. WTF happened to him?

Imagine getting a genetic lottery ticket of being 7' with a 7'10" wingspan and just decide youy'll quiet quit your way through your NBA career.

Bamba and Wemby are nothing alike. Why is this a question lol

Skill issue.

I’ve gone to a lot of Magic games and the biggest frustration with Mo Bamba is the fact he has no motor or just desire to play hard. There are 5-7 min stretches where you forget he is on the court and he is the biggest guy there. Doesn’t fight hard enough for rebounds, would rather stay at the 3pt line than enter the offensive action, and his defensive hustle is slow/low IQ at best.

He seems like the typical “guy is tall so my job is basketball.” Very clear to see he doesn’t like basketball or anything involved with it.

Bamba needs to somehow get a job as a developing young prospect with the Toronto Raptors. It will do wonders for his career. Unfortunately, it’s not easy with his resume. The interview has to be nailed. Masai is very picky.

Basically think of Wemby but take away -10 to all his stats and that’s Bamba. Not fast enough not tall enough to negate it not smart enough to read the floor not strong enough to play as a true 5 not hard working enough to improve on any of those negatives and lastly not healthy enough. A shame because he will have random flashes showing the possibilities but they’re few and far between. Basically what you see Wemby do in 20min takes Bamba half a season to do.

Omg I remember in 2018 predraft everyone on the Mavs sub being okay settling for Mo Bamba or MPJ with the preference being the latter

The Victor Wembanyama stretching routine is gonna become mandatory.

People will talk about it like it’s the second coming of the Mikey drills.

The difference between the two players might just be the stretching.

I just hope he one day writes an autobiography titled “Mo Bamba, Mo Betta!”, cuz if he did, I would seriously consider reading said book!

Alot of people think this way but it's very out of touch with reality. Most people who are 7 foot or taller can't move all that fast so they have issues running the floor. Many of them have knee problems. In relation to basketball a skill that isn't talked about enough is the agility required to play at a high level and the foot work. Many dudes that big aren't the most coordinated guys. Dudes like Embiid and Shaq who are big and can run the floor and have the coordination to make high level post moves are rare.

Mo Bamba is not a comparison to Wemby in the slightest. Bol Bol is much closer.

Mo Bamba won me my fantasy league a couple seasons ago. Went bonkers during the fantasy playoffs. Will always be a legend in my eyes

He got hoes calling

[–] dwadefan45@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hoes calling his phone

All the size in the world doesn’t matter if you don’t have talent. Bamba just isn’t good at basketball Wemby would be an nba IMo if he were 6’6 Bamba at 6’6 would be selling insurance

Overhyped and actually sucks. Tale as old as time.

He had that song then it was all down hill.

Don’t over think it. Humans are humans. If they didn’t have their aspirations set high enough, the money from a rookie contract may have been all they wanted.

Kobe said he found it easier to dominate in the NBA since some people truly only played for a paycheck instead of a drive to win and succeed.

[–] Mikegetscalls@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Have you seen him play?

He wouldn’t be in the league anymore if he wasn’t so high of a draft pick.

[–] No_Pipe341@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

No work ethic. They took him out of Harlem at 14 and he got soft in prep school. Never played in Anything with smoke. He has no work ethic

[–] mariller_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's as if there's more to this game of basketball than only having right body. Who knew.

Victor is going to be a monster if healthy. Dude is smart and csn ball and clearly has the physical gift.
