Rockets and Wolves got the best ones

[–] shakakaaahn@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Was talked about in the ripcity sub, but ours was so damn close to looking good (for us). Instead of that tiny plaid tag on the shoulders, have it run down the sides. Then fix the text not being horizontal, holy fuck man. Really does look like a rough draft explicitly told to be bland.

It’s like the worst homage to the 70s jerseys I could think of.

I like the rockets and the Suns jerseys. I don't get why we don't just bring back the vice city jerseys. Actually having the word culture on ours is cringeworthy.

So the Bucks can't wear cream anymore because it messes with the ads projected on the court, but the Raptors get a jersey that looks even more wood colored?

[–] DrumzRUs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

man Denver just get numbers lol

[–] Saucy_Totchie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There's some serious hits to me like the Pistons, Hawks, and Spurs but damn are there giant misses like the Nuggets, Heat, and Rockets.

Most of these are really good.

Unpopular opinion but I'm a big fan of the yearly City Jersey. Let the designers go wild, try new colour schemes and layouts, sports are supposed to be fun, it's not fun for the Celtics to have the exact same jersey every year for 70 years. Speaking of which Celtics city jersey looks great!

Why must Chicago's be the worst one?

The thing that kills me is that there are SOOOOO many fan made mocked up jerseys that do a better job of the city edition. By “a better job” I mean they take interesting aspects of the city, tie it in a more visually appealing way and just have fun with it.

All of these jerseys SCREAM of compromise between creative teams and whoever the fuck has the money. My professional opinion is that they look like bland, focus group, corporate asshole excrement.

Just pick one person to design the jersey from the city. One local artist and let them go fucking nuts. It’ll have more heart in one thread of that jersey than the lot of these shit rags.

What the fuck is this world? What have they done to us?

There are honestly only 2-3 that I actually dislike. For the most part pretty decent IMO

[–] ProfessorDahmer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This should be so embarrassing for the league. Some of these are unbelievably stupid and disconnected from the entire point of this God-forsaken class of jerseys.

[–] jotyma5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why do they keep making the Boston city editions look like bucks uniforms?

[–] Justlegos@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nooooooo these are all terrible

[–] SmellyObeseAndBald@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hornets continue to get by based on their color scheme alone.

[–] Next_Episode@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think these might be the worst bunch yet

[–] Warpios@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Are city edition jerseys meant to be plain and boring or ugly as hell? Because if so they’re doing an incredible job.

[–] zpk5003@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Are you supposed to look at the Knicks jersey with 3D glasses or something?

[–] delightfuldinosaur@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Good: Boston, Cavs, Pacers, Suns, Kings, Spurs, Kings, Wolves, Bucks

Who designed this shit: Lakers, Heat, Memphis

[–] Kitchen_Ad_3753@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wow, almost all of these are garbage. Didn't realize the writers strike impacted jersey design as well.

Denver just put a fucking number on their jerseys that already feature player numbers smh.

Timberwolves and Knicks' look interesting enough though.

[–] Inthebag_mac@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How long does Nike have this contract?

[–] ArmorKing1992@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

These are all ass except for the Timberwolves’

[–] Mattoosie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

60% of these are terrible.

30% are fine.

10% are actually nice.

[–] Inthebag_mac@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I almost miss the little sleeved jerseys of yesteryear. Almost.

[–] CaptainNipplesMcRib@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Collectively these are the shittiest city jerseys Nike has ever released. So lazy. They should just stop.

[–] RVAIsTheGreatest@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rockets and Kings jerseys are crispy. I can do without almost every other one though.

[–] db1189@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Stop saying H-Town. Literally nobody in Houston says it

[–] itsavirus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why is no one talking about how 90% of the jerseys are just black with a primary color outline?

Absolutely zero creativity.

[–] ZarakiBankai@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

woof.. these are brutal. Nike really out of ideas due to their over saturation. At this point I'm down for teams to just have two jerseys for awhile to undo this

[–] jakobburns01@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Phoenix San Antonio look cool, most are mid, atl and Chicago look atrocious bro

[–] teenageuser@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Heat jersey easily the worst I hate it so much

[–] Dogmanl4d2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

None of these are good

[–] JuanSpiceyweiner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

People please do not buy these so they learn
