I always wanted to follow the NBA, but legally viewing it in my country was too expensive for me while I was a student. However, after finishing uni and starting a new job I decided to get League Pass and watch some basketball! Due to timezones, I will only rarely catch games live, but I'm excited to wake up to the VODs. But looking at the schedule, it feels overwhelming.

Tell me which teams I should watch (and root for) and why?
What are the storylines going into this season? Which players should I look out for and what are the most hyped prospects?
Are there any podcasts you can recommend for insights into the league?

I'm happy for any pointers you can give me and I'm looking forward to the season!

Stay away from the Sixers, Raptors, Pistons, Thunder and Clippers

Usually people just go for whatever team is closest to their hometown and roll with it, if there’s not any you just pick whichever team you think is most entertaining

I picked the Mavericks because I liked their logo and ended up liking the team and players through that.

Pick what you like.

This is a tough one. I grew up with my team and they sucked. So I always had a favorite player. Barkley then Kobe. Later it evolved to young teams hoping my team could turn in to. I could tell you to watch the Bucks at there prime but just watch games and find a team you attach to. I love my Bucks now but OKC is once again my 2nd team. They're just fun to watch evolve. The NBA has luckily become more competitive so just watch and pick a team during the season. The Kings are pretty fun too
