GMT Master II - batman on the jubilee bracelet at MSRP
At this rate, not likely to get it at all, despite having saved up enough to afford it.

GMT Master II - batman on the jubilee bracelet at MSRP

Well, mine was always a Breguet, but I actually bought a Breguet Marine 5817, so I have it now!
If I were going to pick one now (with the assumption that a "grail" is by definition almost impossible to obtain), I'll go with the amazing if somewhat absurd F.P. Journe Centigraphe Souveraine. I doubt I'll ever have one of these, as the price of an F.P. Journe seems to go up like 30% every year and thus remain forever out of reach.
F.P. Journe Chronometre Resonance
Not a chance. Maybe if I was worth $100m, which I never aspire to be.
Milgauss, with black dial and green crystal.
Speedmaster Snoopy
Probably a lange 1918 white gold variant.
However I'm hoping to get a JLC of some kind prior to that.

I keep a long list! I could easily buy one or two from this list at this point, but theres no way in hell I’m ever building anything close to the full collection
Some of you dudes need to dream bigger. Calling some of these watches “grails” is a real stretch.
It’s a great watch! I have the chronomaster sport in black. One of my favorite watches!
If we are taking grails, mine is probably a dornblueth & sohn quintus auf & ab or a Lange saxonia moon phase
The rose gold “root beer” Rolex GMT master ll
Speedmaster Professional, not at all likely since I only just recently hit 1k in my savings account. I just won't ever be able to drop several thousand on a watch.
Omega ("Pie Pan" dial) Constellation, 1962 (year I was born).
At $2500-$3500, not likely unless a miracle occurs.
I do have a Marathon Anthracite GSAR . . . it's a nice consolation prize.
Omega Aqua Terra, I think.
As a Toronto mortgage holder with a modest income, I'm gonna say my chances are zero to nil.
Patek Pertual Calendar Chronograph in yellow gold. Chances of getting it are whatever my odds are of winning the lottery.
It's $200k so how likely? 0 https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-6259981
Realistically... JLC Master Calendar (without the reserve) with a brown strap. $7k on a good day. I can do it eventually if I really want it.
the Zenith in the pic looks really nice (great grayscale color contrast, includes date which isn't that usual with a chronometer). 👍🏾
My grail is / was the FPJourne Chronometre Bleu. I knew from seeing it via pics only that it was special and then I was able to pick it up on the reseller market. Got it serviced by Journe -- so I know it's authentic. 😊
It didn't matter the price point, your grail is your grail. Hope you get to have the Zenith and enjoy it for years to come!
Zenith El Primero as a matter of fact and put the odds at 30 to 40% but will probably be in my 90's or 100's
It was a two tone Seamaster Heritage, and I say was only because one came up in barely used condition recently for a great price so I jumped. Has barely left my wrist since and completely shut down my scrolling for other new watches. I just love the thing and am over the moon that I was finally able to pick one up.
Love that watch. And it’s one of the very few sport watches that I think looks better with a white dial. Go get it.
My grail watch is a A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia thin in white gold and I will achieve this grail it will be my 7 watch to finish my collection one day.
Here we go with the "grail" discussion again. I'm of the opinion that spending lots of money for a watch that can be found at the dealer is instead a matter of prioritizing expenses. My definition of grail is "the object of an extended or difficult quest".
I have a number of grails and I'm tracking them down one by one. One of my grails cost only $600. I knew it existed from a photograph of one in bad shape and I started a long search. A few years later I was able to get the watch when one just showed up on ebay. My watch is now one of three known to exist.
My most recently acquired grail was a 14kt gold Alpina Gruen Techni-Quadron Jump Hour from the early 1930s. It uses an Aelger movement that was branded as a Gruen 877 when used in this watch, or a Rolex 300 when used in the Rolex Prince. Here's a picture
The Cartier Crash, also known as Unobtainium
Rolex gmt pepsi 6542. Probably not
This is mine but for 50K+ it’s 90% no unfortunately. Stunning and quality piece though.
Omega Speedy Silver Snoopy: likely, if I can get one for retail. Can't justify 20k though
Rolex Daytona Meteorite (116520, I think) Not very likely at all The john mayer is a grail as well equally as not likely.
That Mr Jones watch that says “fuck it time is a social construct”; I have no idea how to find one
Damn dude that watch is amazing i might cop it.
I’m a simple man.. Either a PAM base sandwich dial or Mark XX. Likelihood of getting either watch? Slim to none. Getting married in a year, wanting to have a child right after marriage. I don’t want to flip any of my watches just to inch closer to the grail.
AP Royal Oak. If I didnt eat food, drive a car, pay rent, pay for gym memberships, or have any expenses for a few years sure, I could afford it.
All gold Day Date, I will eventually lol
I have an el primero in the blue that they released as the Charles Vermot special edition. Still my favourite.
Grail is a Rolex 5517. There is zero chance I will ever own one, but it's a special reference.
VC Historiques American 1921. I have some other toys I’m working on first (992 T, maybe a boat) but then sure eventually.
Patek 5212A.
100% eventually. When I can sell a painting for $30k.
