It all depends on how much typing you anticipate doing...
Remarkable
Useful Links
I wouldn't hold your breath when it comes to being able to type on a PDF.
Here's a suggestion ...
-
Type whatever you need into an "original" document on a computer.
-
Use RCU to "print" the finished document to a PDF on the reMarkable tablet.
I use macOS, I'm not sure if the "virtual printer" functionality exists for windows or linux. If not, export the original to a PDF using whatever software you have on the computer, then send it to the reMarkable tablet (using RCU, or by uploading it through the tablet's web interface).
-
Use the reMarkable to sign the PDF.
-
Export the now-signed PDF back to the computer, or if the tablet is linked to the reMarakble cloud, email copies of the now-signed PDF to yourself and the client.
Ok. So you suggest not to order the Type Folio?
My main concern also is the extra weight and thickness. I guess the combination with Type is much thicker than normal Folio only.
It’s only 40 euro’s extra for the keyboard but I’m in great doubt.
I don't own one, and from what I've seen of how the rM2's "text" tool works, and from other peoples' comments here, I'm not sure that I would use it if I had it.
Ok, I made the decision NOT to order the Type Folio. I'm going for the same set as my first RM2; the Marker Plus and the Brown leather folio.
The extra thickness and weight are holding me back of buying.
Also, as some of you mentioned, I can make a contract on my Macbook (with logo and stuff) and upload it to my RM2 through the RM App on my Macbook. It's good enough that way. Like you said; no possibility to write on PDF's are also holding me back from buying.
Maybe if someday there will be a RM3, I will reconsider :).
Just orderer the RM2 with normal leather folio. Thanks all!

I send mine back.
You can't decide where the text field goes, you can just type. I bought the rm to get away from the Pc, and typing with a keyboard narrows my thinking, no matter where the keyboard is connected to.
One of the main values of Remarkable 2 to me is I prefer to get my thoughts onto paper via handwriting. And Remarkable 2 makes that easy. I personally see no value in having a keyboard.
As someone with messy handwriting that defies any attempt to convert, I like it as a revising tool of my handwritten work without pulling me into the distraction rich atmosphere of the computer.
Whoever said it’s like an old school typewriter is correct without the tactile joys of that medium though
I have the keyboard, but I’m going to sell it no use for it. If I really want to type I can actually use the reMarkable app in my phone just speak and it types
