I recommend Ecosia over DuckDuckGo. DDG is American and uses bing whereas Ecosia is European and although it uses bing, they are developing an independent indexer.

Can you also add Panoramax as an alternative to Google Street View in the sidebar? It's French, FOSS, and federated.

Thanks for the suggestion it's added. Seems ok for a map, but the street view in Canada is almost non-existant

It's quite new and the only non-American option to date. Mapillary is owned by Facebook.
