The FBI is moving to criminalize groups like Habitat for Humanity for receiving grants from the Environmental Protection Agency under the Biden administration.

Citibank revealed in a court filing Wednesday that it was told to freeze the groups’ bank accounts at the FBI’s request. The reason? The FBI alleges that the groups are involved in “possible criminal violations,” including “conspiracy to defraud the United States.”

“The FBI has told Citibank that recipients of EPA climate grants are being considered as potentially liable for fraud. That is, the Trump administration wants to criminalize work on climate science and impacts,” the @capitolhunters account wrote Wednesday on X. “An incoming administration not only cancels federal grants but declares recipients as criminals. All these grantees applied under government calls FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK, were reviewed and accepted. Trump wants to jail them.“

The Appalachian Community Capital Corporation, the Coalition for Green Capital, and the DC Green Bank are just some of the nonprofits being targeted.

“This is not fraud. This is targeted harassment,” @capitolhunters continued. “The idea of criminalizing community climate work wouldn’t have originated at the FBI—it likely comes from EPA director Lee Zeldin, who today cut all EPA’s environmental justice offices, which try to reduce pollution in poor and minority communities.”

Zeldin’s order eliminates 10 EPA regional offices as well as the headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Habitat for Humanity has to be declared a terrorist group so that Jimmy Carter, the left's version of Ronald Reagan, can be excoriated in history as a criminal/terrorist who represented a criminal/terrorist organization.

This is how propaganda works.

Has anyone else here read The Deluge by Stephen Markley? The parallels are terrifying. Highly recommend.

So glad Carter isn't around to see this. Fucking Habit for Humanity? The, "we won't give you a house for nothing, you need to literally build it with some help" folks?

If HFH is a criminal organization, then Jimmy Carter was a criminal for cooperating with them for decades. Obviously he was the head of the Carter Crime Family. Why do Democrats only allow the heads of organized crime families be their presidential nominees? /S

There are no non-violent solutions

To quote American Dad: "I know I said violence is never the answer...but it has just become, the answer".

Keep in mind that one of the purposes of these actions is to force these organizations to waste millions of dollars and months of time defending themselves. That's money and time not being spent actually doing the job they're supposed to be doing, and therefore giving a false impression that the entire organization is just a waste of taxpayer money since they're not actually accomplishing anything and keep being subject to criminal investigations.

Basically, if the optics of shutting down an agency are too bad even for Trump's standards, he'll just drown them in litigation and render them ineffective instead. The end result is pretty much the same for all practical purposes.

They also get to call Jimmy Carter the head of the Carter Crime Family for working with an organization that the government has declared is a criminal enterprise.

So that gives us the Biden Crime Family, the Clinton Crime Family, and the Carter Crime Family. Only Obama isnt really being called a criminal much, but he's black, so that's good enough, maybe even better.

Hard to even defend yourself against bullshit allegations when your bank account is frozen at the request of the Fascist Bureau of Intimidation.

Their crime? They helped poor people, which in Trump's eyes is defrauding the wealthy.

Suck it asshats who ever thought the people at the FBI (*cough Mueller) were ever going to save us.

Does anyone remember when Robert Mueller railroaded Bruce Ivins for the Anthrax attacks in 2001 until Ivins committed suicide?

Let’s hope someone can Mario part trump and every single republican representative. It’s honestly the only way forward. Preferably all in one day so the retarded followers can’t get their propaganda consumption to spew idiot messaging. Thank god they’re too fucking stupid to join lemmy cause we’d have to clean up in here.

[–] courageousstep@lemm.ee 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

What do we do?? What the fuck do we do??

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 17 hours ago

Start preparing for trouble, because its going to get a LOT worse before it gets better. The odds of getting out of this without violence are a shrinking by the day.

Luckily, the HitlerPig administration hasn't figured out that replacing all the competent leaders with knuckle-dragging Pakleds means that the opposition has all the brains and knowledge, while MAGA only has people who truly believe their own propaganda. In addition, there are still thousands of government workers who are seething at what has happened to their careers, thrir agrncies, their work, and especially their colleagues. MANY of them will be willing moles for leaks, sabotage, quiet quitting, malicious compliance, etc.

When it finally kicks off, the people will have the true leadership on their side. All MAGA has is an incompetent ignorant tyrant. Once he's gone, MAGA will melt like tears in the rain.
