Hello, very small question. The framework website states that the AMD batch 9 ships out in quarter 4, does that mean quarter 4 this year or next year?

They stated in their newsletter that they plan to ship all of the batches by end of this year.

This again?

For you, it means Q4 of 2025.

The AMD FW13 was announced in March of 2023, and Batch 3 is currently being shipped. So there are two possibilities here:

  1. Framework is going to ship them in Q4 2024, roughly 18 months after they were announced, a full year after Batch 3 started shipping, and probably three months after the Zen 5 APUs are released.
  2. Framework is going to ship them in Q4 2023.

I can see it going either way.

"Production fully ramped up on Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series)
We had a bit of a slow start on Ryzen 7040 Series, but our production is now fully ramped up and we’re making our way through pre-order batches quickly. Batch 1 is now completely shipped, Batch 2 is most of the way through, and we’re starting Batch 3 shipments this week. We currently expect to clear all pre-order batches and move into in-stock before the end of the year."
