Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Donald Trump pardoned former Tennessee state senator Brian Kelsey, who served only two weeks of a 21-month sentence for a campaign finance scheme.

Kelsey illegally funneled state campaign funds into his failed 2016 congressional bid and later tried to withdraw his guilty plea.

He claimed “God used Donald Trump to save me” from a "weaponized Biden DOJ."

The pardon follows Trump’s decision to weaken the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section.

Wheeeeeeee this is normal politics. So normal. The most normalest. Nothing to see here.

I’m fine. We’re fine. We’re all fine here. How are you?

Don't forget how that conversation ended: with a gun.

The fact that that the stormtroopers flood through the door 30 seconds later in that scene is part of the joke I was making 🫠

NOTHING says Law and Order like Pardoning people who DEFRAUDED the Working Class!

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

If Trump pardons some terrorists, why not a little bit of pardon for every supporter?

I mean, Trump is immune for all that fraud of his, so it's only fair to pardon all fraud.

We can look forward to four years of this trash.

You're never going back to the old way of doing things. Kiss that country goodbye.

If We The People keep letting them cheat with no consequence we deserve what we get.

Nobody asked me so I’m not sure I agree with the ‘we’ part of your statement.

The corruption will keep spreading until the American people grows a spine.

When do we get to grind these people into fertilizer to help the farming industry recover?

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

We don't want to do that, their salt will render the farmland infertile. Much better to eat them directly

It's amusing seeing that social media is the anger outlet for everyone keeping their real anger suppressed..the more people tell at their phones about them, the easier it all is for them..sadly.
