He finished the game with 7 points / 10 rebounds and +23 on the court.

He was the primary defender of KD in the 4th and showed great defence.

ironically, he was a better defender than a scorer so far for the lakers

Kudos to him. I know we'll talk about his defense on KD in the fourth, but he did a great job simply securing defensive rebounds in a tight game.

If he can carve out that niche, he'll have time on the floor for LA.

Wood has so many haters but they’re all silent right now lol. His stats were bad but he made a bunch of winning plays today. Good shit man

Wood being willing to do the dirty work on this Lakers team is gonna earn him playing time, gonna earn him money going forward, and is gonna free AD up a little more defensively which elevates the ceiling of the Lakers defense. That can unlock AD as a disruptor and defensive playmaker.

He always has had the physical tools to defend. And his combination of wiry strength and quickness makes him a solid matchup on KD compared to many.

I hope he does well. I don't think he was that bad on the mavs last year at all.
