Derrrr
Dont worry raiders, we'll make sure to get him fired for ya
Mmmmmmmaybeeeeee
Biggest “no shit?” Article title ever.
um ah duh
Peter Principle in full effect
Maybe he's been riding the coat rails of the greatest QB to ever play the game. Who knew?
He's a fat clown
The debacle with the Colts a few years back should have been a red flag..
lol the way this is titled seems to imply theres doubt to that notion, mcdaniels obvi isnt meant to be a hc, he's shit at being a hc
I insist this was a clerical error and they sent the contract to the wrong McDaniel.
Maybe?
Always has been
From the games I’ve seen he’s too conservative and has misused his timeouts
No coach could win there this year, but yea I agree
Probably true. But also, this is the team McDaniels wanted. He brought in his guys, chased off talents that weren't his guys.
No shit
I read the title as Mike McDaniel at first and flipped the freak out
Gee ya thank?
Sometimes all you’re missing is one piece (Tom Brady)
Dude that was obvious when he coached the broncos several years ago. I can’t think of a coach that has gotten more chances and accomplished less than him. If Patricia ever gets another HC job he’d be up there too. Being good at taking direction from belichik obviously does not make a head coach
He does feel like this generations Norv Turner. Solid OC but can’t lead a team.
Awesome. is the experiment done? Run home josh.
It’s like the raiders didn’t see his previous attempt at being an HC lol
Never trust a guy who wears half a hat.
Weren't there stories about Josh McDaniels' 6-0 start being fueled by sign stealing?
I'm actually being serious.
To be fair, if he had Tebow, this would all work out a lot better amirite?
Where's my damn Pikachu meme
MAYBE??????????????
How many times have we seen this headline now?
I’ve said this since he tried his luck in Denver!
You don't say.
The thing is that he is an absolutely fantastic coordinator. Top tier, best in class, offensive mind. He's really, really good at that.
I don't know why specifically he isn't translating to the head coaching world. Is it because he lacks the ability to manage what is very good at, while also managing the rest of the operations? Is it that he doesn't build a relationship well with all of the players? Is it that his focus on the offense is primarily cerebral, whereas relationships with players, and building a team culture, is more soft-skills than choosing the perfect play at the right time?
There are plenty of people who get promoted because they're fantastic at their job but don't make great managers. McDaniels seems like that guy. Sometimes it's good to just be an individual contributor and recognize that you aren't particularly at your best, or even happiest, when you're managing a team of people.
Where's he gonna go next? Truth is, I wouldn't mind seeing him here in SF as a coordinator working with Kyle Shanahan. If you combined McDaniels passing game with Shanahan's running & playaction game - and that actually worked out - that would easily be the best offense the world has ever seen.
Wow! No shit Sherlock!
