I have just finished uni, and am looking to buy a watch for my self as a graduation present from uni. I will be starting my graduate work in a couple of months. And trying to find a nice watch under 1000 aud. I have a 2 watches right now, 1 a san martin dive watch and a fossil chronograph. My main problem is my 16-17 cm wrist.

I currently looking at like chronographs, but feel like the ones i can find are just too big.

Similarly, i like to prx, but feel like the original size may be to big, and the 35 mm to small.

looking at the seiko prospex black right now

I would be looking at the Tissot Heritage 1938 Automatic COSC

You didn’t mention your budget, but I have a 15cm wrist and comfortably wear a Farer Cresta chronograph. They tuck the spring bars into the case so the lug to lug measurement is smaller than you’d expect. Any watch in their Chronosport collection is the same.

There's been a few nice suggestion near the $1000 mark, so I'll throw in the timex marlin chrono and Q chrono as more affordable options. They do have acrylic crystals though, if that's something you don't prefer.

For chronos, a Lorier Gemini would be cool if the shipping to AU isn't prohibitively expensive. Otherwise, chronos are pretty tough because so many are quite thick for your wrist at under $2k USD. The other thin one I can think of is the Mean Skymaster, which is above budget even used. Or a hammy intramatic.

For non-Chronos and brand new, I do think you should give the 35mm PRX a try. It'll wear a bit bigger due to its integrated design. I don't find many of the other big brands offerings that compelling at that price, and many microbrands will have a high shipping cost. There's zelos, but you're stuck waiting for a release for a field/sports watch.i like Traska and nodus, but they're US based so a lot of the "value" is a bit negated by the high shipping.
