Is it harmless to place the watch like this at the side of the crown? I don't know and I'm afraid I'll damage something like that, please someone help out a watch noob.

Yeah it’s fine. This crown has a two stage mechanism that you can pull out to engage the date wheel first, and then to change the time. So when it’s locked in like this it’s not actually engaged in the mechanism. Any weight is only being pressed onto the case and the seals. Your hand pushing against it when you bend your wrist would be much stronger than the few hundred grams here.

nice watch man!!! I have this watch in the 39mm Champaign dial and its my daily, I've swapped the straps for quick release rubber/leather racer straps because it makes it look smaller on my teeny 6.25in wrist, I fckin love this watch man I'm half tempted to get the black dial
