Welcome!
Can you imagine, years ago how the internet was before? We know Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube. We knew blogger, Tumblr, Skyrock... and long before, it was the forum era as phpBB..and mail-lists.
And now with ActivityPub, we are reshaping the web, and achieving much with lots of freedom. So thank you all, and welcome ๐ค๐

Yes, I just don't quite know how I would test it
You can run the binary in the plugin examples repo linked above. Soon I will tag a new alpha version as well.
I thought there was https://dev.lemmy.ml/ , but it doesn't show up
@nutomic@lemmy.ml , is there any dev instance running the current 1.0 version so that people can test?
Well for a plugin system, one needs their own instance really
I think they don't have a tagged image for a v1.0 alpha yet, so I think you just have to modify your docker-compose.yml file to build instead of pull a premade image
https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/blob/main/docker/docker-compose.yml#L24-L33
Yea, which is something that is not easy for most people to do. It's entirely too much effort for me atm. I'll wait for something tagged
actually there is a tag for the alpha, it hasn't been updated in a few days so it will probably need another update soon

now released

On an unrelated note, interesting to see you from retrolemmy.
Yea a while ago DosDude asked me to be an admin, and it's a great instance. Even though I'm still doing a lot of programming, I haven't been chatting about it much or browsing those communities, this felt more appropriate.
Awesome we get mods!
Also thank you @notanapple@lemm.ee
hey dont even mention it, thank you and thank you for helping the community grow!
Happy to help!
