A new hope came out in 1977, 48 years ago. My favorite era was all of the EU books and comics and video games that came out between rotj and episode 1 with all of the various authors and creators building and exploring stories and characters within the universe. Disney has a few good series, but they'll continue to strangle the IP until it becomes public domain/commons.

Yes, if they used the franchises to really develop fully flushed out universes and tell new stories, then great! The problems start when franchises are used to "guarantee" sales/viewership while lazily rehashing the same stories and characters and pumping out mediocre high budget slop. I really loved Andor.
How Disney fucked up this universe I will never understand. Andor and Rogue One along with the mandalorian is the only good thing disney made. Stop with all this starwars slop! You killing me!
