My boyfriend just got us both matching Cartier Tank Louises for our anniversary. This is now the most expensive thing I own and I have no idea how to store it. People have an idea he does well for himself but we try to be extremely lowkey about it, but we're both still relatively young so I am a little anxious that if people see me wearing this watch they might gossip which might lead to stealing etc. Should I get a safe? I host people at my apartment at least once a month so I'm not sure if I should be getting insurance for this or something...?

You should get insurance. That is worth enough that you’ll need a separate rider on your renters insurance for it. A safe might protect against party guests but probably not against burglars (it’s easy to carry off a small safe)

It may be a good idea to put it on safe deposit box if your neighborhood is not safe.

Just get any decent good looking watch box, leather or wood depending on preference, there's many great ones on Etsy or amazon for ~ $50 - $100. That'll do wonders in making sure your watch is always in the same safe place when not worn. But on that not wear the watch, there's no value in keeping it in a safe. I would also recommend insurance for theft.

I pee on them to mark my territo..... I mean a safe plus insurance.

Before I leave my home I place them at random corners of the home and draw myself a treasure map so I can find them when I return home.
