I have been seriously wondering why it seems like there hasn't been something embarrassing that's been accidentally recorded or an embarrassing photo that's blamed on AI. I don't pay attention to the news, so maybe I've missed it happen. I don't know. I would have just figured someone by now would have been caught with their pants down and said "the AI done it!"

Have I just missed people doing this or is there something preventing people from making such claims? Thanks.

We are very close to the point where people can credibly insist that a real video is a deepfake. But so far I've only seen realistic deepfakes where the face is swapped.

When a deepfake of someone actually doing bad things is possible, we will see people claiming the video is fake.

When this is trvial to do, I'm not sure what happens to the concept of security cameras. The recordings may need to be hashed and "notorized" on a blockchain to be legally valid.
