If you find yourself agreeing with Cartman then you are being made fun of. Cartman is clearly a piece of shit and always has been.

[–] Narroo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I want to point out that Disney's new movie that just came out, Wish, is literally about a "strong diverse woman fighting the patriarchy." Like, word for word.

And worse, it flopped because it's basically the same movie that Disney has been making for years, and audiences are tired of it. Like the timing of the opening scene was divine.

A random train of thought.

Kathleen Kennedy at the restaurant wanted a linguine with a chick in it and her gay.

Kathleen Kennedy at the end has no issues with the Kyle cereal.

Kathleen Kennedy sees Kyle as a chick and gay?

But we know Cartman is Kathleen Kennedy so...

Man kenny kinda bad tho

[–] Sunsun_theartist@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I want a breakdown of every single character in their panderverse version cause I couldn’t tell who was who

[–] not_a_sesawter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

i hate how this episode is used by bigots to suppot their racist, homophobic, transphobic, and so on and so forth, views

[–] CapitanoNox@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It's kinda a shame people seem to ignore the B plot.

[–] thecordobear@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Finally

A Randy storyline that has nothing to do with weed or drugs or tegridy

[–] serytnilehcim@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I saw a video on southpark so started watching do fireside chats ever stop? I'd like to know who the real Scratch is - love the show

we should get your bitchass back in the kitchen 😃

[–] popoffworldwide@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Dawg that special was hilarious imo 🤣 calling out exactly what needed to be said, Disney even tried to stop this from airing which is hilarious. I love South Park so much

[–] CaffineIsLove@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

South Parks most diverse episode and it’s extremely popular. So much DEI in this episode it’s insane and look how well it’s doing! It’s obviously a good show of how DEI can improve a company

[–] GreedyRecording4698@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I can't stop laughing. This is one of the best (long) episodes ever in my opinion, because they have the balls to go after the inclusive actors and the filmstudios try to be woke.

Personally i hate that woke kind of shit and specially in the movies. Wouldn't it be funny to do a ww2 movie where Hitler is black? Besides that, what is your opinion guys? Do you think movies are getting too inclusive?

🚨DIFFERENT! 🚨DIFFERENT! 🚨DIFFERENT!

okay so maybe a hot take- I was so stoked for this episode but the writing felt lazy. But maybe that was the whole point and I’m just stupid lmao. I loved all of the elements of the episode separately and I loved the concept but I guess I just wanted more umph from it. It wasn’t nearly as brutal as I expected it to be, and I feel like if I knew more abt Kathleen Kennedy I’d prob like it more

[–] LesserValkyrie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The episode was on point but, and it's the case for the whole last seasons, they are terrorized by the ideas of shocking or going against the establishment.

Which is why they did such masterpieces by then and can't do them anymore.

I mean the episode basic plot was sold to be about people being tired of seeing woke destroying good series, they did everything right about it with a very correct analysis, but the conclusion still was "yeah people criticizing it are tiresome too" and Cartman himself admits that

Cartman itself, the dude who made a kid eats his own parents for a few dollars admits that "yeah I'm part of the problem because I criticize seeing my beloved Disney series getting destroyed by woke"

Of course they can't go full shit against them, for some reason. Why I'm pretty sure they would have done it years ago.

I really think than 15 years ago they would have made Katheleen eat shit or something like that with gruesome details, in the end they depicts her as a woman with good will that happened to be a bit lazy, and you are like "ok so Star Wars 7,8, 9 it was all OK after all ?"

When South Park starts to gaslight you into accepting the inacceptable maybe you understand why they don't make legendary episodes anymore.

Anyone been able to get through on this budget handiman line? I keep calling but it's busy which kinda goes along with the theme but still

I really enjoyed it. I was worried when Elon Musk was praising it but it kept it funny for everyone like they usually do. Cartman is Cartman regardless if they are diverse or white. I sympathized with Randy and being angry at college. I thought it worked pretty well overall

[–] dooby05@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

All that over the little fuckin mermaid? Hahaha ok

[–] Fredquency@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

When is it coming out in latam? Paramount+ doesn't have it here.

[–] timschwartz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why did Cartman say "Authority" and not "Authoritah"?

[–] pattythedab@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

“it’s possible someone has tampered with it somehow” is the most underrated joke in the episode

[–] john_fartston@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I personally thought this episode was pretty boring. The parts with the actual panderverse characters were pretty entertaining. The alternate Cartman was hilarious imo, I also liked the alternative butters. They really underutilized the panderverse, considering it's a 48-minute commentary. The whole episode I was anticipating a side plot with both Kenny's and that girl, but it just never went anywhere.

I was not a fan of the actual B plot. It would've been alright as a regular episode, but not for a 48-minute special. I feel like it was an idea they had for another episode, but decided to shoe horn it into this special to meet the required length. The actual story was just Randy being a complete moron. It takes up half the episode but has absolutely nothing to do with the panderverse, aside from the very end. It wasn't that funny either, and I felt it dragged on.

I feel like they lost an opportunity to use a white tokken

[–] SteamedGamer@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But there are no white people in the Panderverse!

[–] Pristine_Pianist@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My Jewish friends dont identify as white.

Never thought about it honestly

[–] iminthecorner@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I love pander-Butters rendition of the iconic apples song! And the same scream and fear of Mr. Stoch. 😆

[–] BenAfleckIsAnOkActor@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When it was his dad I fucking choked

[–] Reefer-eyed_Beans@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] Big-Passenger-9514@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

mr hankey the christmas poo

[–] lordmainstream@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This was peak South Park. It covered so many current topics that i just wish it was a 3 episode saga instead of a special.

It also amazes me how on par with current stuff Trey and Matt are. Baldur's gate? Miles Morales? this is stuff that real kids are enjoying today and these grown ass dudes are still on it lol

[–] gfhksdgm2022@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Imagine Disney seeing a 3 episode saga. Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger could get a stroke from blowing so many fuses

[–] king_booker@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I am a software engineer and I feel so attacked about not having any real life skills lmao

Should learn some plumbing or something

[–] IntoTheThickOfIt22@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I‘m also a software engineer and I don’t feel attacked at all. I make a point to learn other skills too. When I was 24, I didn’t know how to change a damn shower head. A roommate had to help me. I was embarrassed AF and made a point to be better from then on. Do I know enough to start a handyman business today? Fuck no. But maybe someday. Specialization is for insects.

You don’t see too many young handymen, because there’s no school, no certs, for that. It’s mainly just owning a house, fixing shit yourself, fucking up repeatedly, learning, remaining curious. Also, volunteering for things like Habitat for Humanity, where there’s retired construction folks who are willing to teach us clueless people how to do things. Then you’re 45 or so and start a side business doing all the same shit for people who can’t be bothered.

I think they’re attacking these muppets in our industry who rant about how college is a useless scam, when in reality, it’s those individuals who are useless. They’re attacking the AI con artists. I fucking loved the subplot of this episode. I’ve heard these stupid arguments way too often IRL, from people with severe main character syndrome, who would’ve rapidly fallen into gaming and alcohol addiction if they didn’t go to college and tried to be self-taught. They don’t teach themselves anything else in life (insert oven door plot here), how the fuck would they bootstrap a career?

These people also know nothing about the trades either, and it shows. Like, becoming a licensed plumber takes years, and they have to take courses at the community college too. They think you just leave high school, get in the trade job cannon, and go to blue collar job land, where jobs grow on jobbies… the only difference is, plumbing apprentices start earning a wage a couple years before a SWE starts an internship. That’s about it.

[–] crackcorn69@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i think it was on par for modern south park, which of course is sub par to old south park. kinda bleh, with a few good jokes and points. kind of scattered, but decent episode i guess.

its already annoying seeing on twitter of all the maga nutcases using gifs of this episode to empower their agenda of 'anti wokeness' even tho u know they didnt even watch the episode.

[–] No-Ticket-7086@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I watched the episode, and it clearly criticizes both sides. The thing is that every show already shits on the right on a nightly basis. From SNL to Howard Stern, literally every late night show, daily mom talk shows, even children's shows. People are just excited to see the other side get some flak every once in a while.

[–] jsharp85@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did it feel like they purposely weren’t having cartman make any Jewish comments towards Kyle, maybe cause of what’s going on at the mo

[–] IntoTheThickOfIt22@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hot take: maybe Jews are incompatible with the universe where all the authorities are black. Look at how many Israeli Jews are refugees who fled African genocides.

[–] f_o_t_a@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I like that the diverse Cartman was actually funny. Like setting up the computer just to play Baldur's Gate and calling Kyle's mom a fat bitch.

Unlike so many modern characters that are just hitting the diversity quota with nothing to offer but cliches and end up pushing stereotypes even more.

[–] Hiddenshadows57@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Stan kills me in that scene.

"Wow, it really is Cartman"

Cartman is still a little shit regardless of multi verse

[–] No-Monitor-5333@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is what truly takes this special to the next level. By bringing in a ton of diverse voice actors without compromising the essence that makes the show exceptional, they skillfully incorporated these differences to craft even funnier lines. Diverse Cartman genuinely felt like the genuine Cartman throughout the entire episode and then solidified it through the Baldur's Gate gag.

Trey and Matt basically put this together as a fuck you to Disney "this is how you add diversity without sacrificing characters and telling an interesting story"

[–] Mach-Rider@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] PuppyPenetrator@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Worth my time but worse than the other specials honestly

The panderverse stuff was decent but there were some really boring stretches (mainly the handiman thing, the joke was abundantly clear way too early)

[–] john_fartston@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The handyman stuff felt like the plot line of a regular episode stretched out to fill half the special, and really had nothing to do with the panderverse

[–] FatumIustumStultorum@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It was okay. I certainly don't think it "DESTROYS" or "EVISCERATES" in the way a lot of youtubers wanted it to, though.

[–] KalixStrife453@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Those YouTubers are just as bad as Disney/Hollywood. They just pander to an audience. The difference is people can actually get some artistic worth out of an average movie. Be it music, some effects, some acting talents, some likeable characters or well written plot. Whereas the anti-woke YouTubers create nothing and have zero actual artistic worth. They create nothing. They just work an algorithm and pander for money. They are worse than the evil movie industry.
