In this genAI/LLM era, which career path will have bright future?

  1. AI infrastructure such as training, serving, model deployment etc. Mostly compute and storage infra around AI.
  2. Prompt engineering such as vector database and RAG.
    Which career would you choose?

lol "prompt engineering"

when "i'm really good at googling stuff" is your career path

You need knowledge in both.

Software engineering (especially DS/ML) is all about knowing when to use what tool and when.

A "prompt engineer"'s job is iterally to be able to write concise but specific sentences. E.g. Googling skills.

Vs. Infra engineer that needs to understand complex systems and maintain an extremely complicated set of tools so that they work without an issue for hundreds or thousands of users.

You decide

You (personally OP) should choose to understand and separate buzz words and well defined terms.

Buzz words buzz words everywhere!
