Our family has always driving Toyota but we haven’t bought a new one since a 2018 Rav4. I was the one “negotiating” with dealers back then and I remembered each dealer had like 20 Rav4 (even more of Camry and Corolla). That gave good negotiating power to buyer like me.
Recently one of my cousins graduated, his parents asked me to help them find a Prius. 4 out of 5 dealers near me has zero Prius on hand. and one that has lists the MSRP $28k LE trim at $33k+ tax and fees.
I told my aunt to wait some time so the inventory gets back up and we buyer got some power back.
I wonder how long that would take…
