Just another article calling for a coach being fired before I see anything about Todd fucking Bowles

Man you guys really hate Bowles. I hope y’all find a solution. After suffering BOB in Houston, I know how much it sucks to have a shitty coach

[–] fROM_614_Ohio@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sure. If Bell Belichik and his staff of nepotistic hires are available

[–] OldhamB@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I bloody hope so.

[–] Spangler95@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think he would be a huge upgrade over Dorsey in Buffalo.

[–] MoseFeels@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The problem is reich was meant to be the safe hire. A first time HC would have a longer leash, but reich was supposed to the be sure thing that would have us at least competing for a shitty division after the rhule era. He is not someone who is going to improve at his age and point in his career, I don’t see how you can keep the “sure thing with a high floor and low ceiling” after he goes 1-7

[–] Sabre500@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ideally for the Panthers is we go ahead and keep Fitt and Reich, let them absolutely tank the team in 2024, then hire a new GM, new HC, and give them a top 3-5 pick in 2025 to restart

[–] blisterson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Funny how some franchises have the same coach for years, and other franchises have a revolving door…

[–] JetSetPhantom@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, next question

[–] UnpopularPoster@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If losing games is wrong, I don't wanna be Reich

[–] ishtarot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not a chance in hell

[–] oldblueeyes182@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Come back to Philly. We need a real OC

[–] mrberners@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Frank had an OC title with offensive quality control duties. Literally was the farthest thing away from a real OC.

[–] drWammy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know what the solution is, but we're +3 to fucking Tyson Bagent. Everything should be on the table honestly

[–] xdoolittlex@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Go ahead and get yourself fired, Frank. We'll leave the light on for you.

[–] ITBizOwner2023@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Once again, David Tepper is on a quest to move the Panthers from Carolina to wherever he deems more profitable.

That's why he keeps making all these fucked up decisions with players, coaches, changing natural grass to artificial turf to accommodate fucking soccer, etc., etc.

[–] Swimoach@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Frank is too nice. It may sound crazy but you have to have an edge to coach grown men. You can’t be afraid to be the bad guy and tell it like it is. Frank very rarely shows emotion, and doesn’t get “angry”. There is always a positive outlook to things. In Indy it was great at first when the going was good but after 3 seasons of not good he lost the locker room. You can only say “we will be okay” so many times before they don’t believe you anymore.

I still think Bryce Young is a very good QB prospect, but it’s pretty undeniable how horribly he matches with Reich’s scheme (especially considering he wanted Stroud).

I don’t think it matters who coaches this offense, they’ve got a horrible WR problem which is exacerbating both Reich and Young’s success with the offense. I don’t think it’d be the WORST thing to fire Reich, but only because Bryce Young has a better chance to succeed with a different HC.

[–] MillerTime5858@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Did Reich want Stroud? Damn that has to sting like a son of a bitch right about now.

[–] RPO1728@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I do think you gotta give these guys some time, the most successful teams in the nfl usually have coaching consistency. But trading for the first pick never seems to work out, and it seems very odd with the draft of qb's coming up this year.

[–] TMPRKO@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Should never have been there in the first place. Panthers passing on Steve Wilks was an awful decision

[–] TheOptionalHuman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'll never believe the Frank Reich who backed up 6'3" Jim Kelly and coached 6'4" Andrew Luck took one look at Bryce Young and said yeah definitely him and not Stroud.

[–] Rogkworld@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think it was the first game of the year and one of the first drives of the game. They got like 9.5 yards on first down and Reich challenged the call because he thought they got 10. I knew right that second he was not the guy. He won the challenge but why in the world would you call it? You have two downs to get 1/2 a yard, it's 0-0 in the first quarter. You only get a maximum of 3 challenges what the heck was the point?????

[–] AmpersandTheMonkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Whoever decided on Bryce Young over CJ Stroud should be gone after one year

[–] chicknsnadwich@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I hate seeing coaches fired after just 1 season. Unless it’s an Urban Meyer situation, or Hackett where the team was preparing to contend and embarrasses themselves. I don’t know that Carolina fits that second category, but it is concerning that they seem a lot worse than last year after all they gave up for Young. If anything, GM should be fired if he doesn’t start looking better soon.

[–] cole8055@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I never understood the hire in the first place

[–] Mrbubble274@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He has not done a good job but i stand with the fact i thought he was a good coach in Indy. I'd rather see what he can do with this team the 2nd year. Maybe im too positive.

[–] DavidMasonBO2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] dood2dood2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Reich probably isn’t a good coach but let’s be honest, not like the GM has given him a lot to work with over there.

[–] Nicetrybozo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm shocked he was hired in the first place.

[–] Particular-Ad-4772@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Depends if it was his call or the owner and/or GMs call to draft a 6’ 190 lb QB with an average arm over CJ Stroud and Will Levis.

Unless the owner 100% made this call , someone will be and frankly deserves to be the fall guy .

Trading their best WR and pucjj in z to move up for Bryce Young when they could have stood pat and hit Levi’s gas to be the worst draft day decision since Trey Lance .

[–] csclark0530@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’m not saying our coaching staff is the solution but is absolutely too soon to make a call one way or the other.

However, I do believe we win the first 3 games if Thomas Brown was calling plays. I appreciate the shift to him mid season.

In two games with him as OC, we move the ball compared to constant punts. I’ll take that as “Progress”. This team does play better than the Rhule teams with all the talent.

Aside from that, our offensive players are:

29th in pass blocking 27th in run blocking 27th in receiver separation 27th in overall receiver efficiency 26th in rushing efficiency And all that equals 28th in passing efficiency.

A lot of this is injuries and miles sanders being a complete flop and a rookie qb who is learning with no help.

I’m not sure anyone, anywhere in the league could do anything positive with this.

We would be having the exact same conversation if we took Stroud over young. Young is in an un-winnable situation. I feel for the guy.

With all of that being said, this offseason will dictate what success Young, and the staff can have. It all starts up front. If Fitterer or someone new can build an appropriate line, the running game will follow, pass protection will be easier, Young can grow.

Note, I do think we can win 5 games this year. But we will see.

[–] __--__--__--__---@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Frank Reichs go to play is a wr screen pass for 0 yards. Guy calls it every game. I don't think there's a game where he doesn't run it

[–] alley_mo_g10@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

As a colts fan I can assure you that this guys sucks. He stands on the sideline clueless, week after week while you watch your team slowly die.

[–] Empty_Lemon_3939@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Unlikely but he’s not going to get anything out of Young

[–] ActivatedComplex@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Something something Third Reich.

I’m sorry, I just don’t have it in me today.

[–] Bill3ffinMurray@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man Matt Rhule really fucked up the Panthers, eh Carolina fans?

[–] MillerTime5858@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He absolutely could. The Panthers are terrible. CJ is clearly the QB of the draft and they gave up multiple first to get Bryce. That was his call. He has to own it. Losing tonight to a struggling Bears would be a huge blow to his ability to stay there.

[–] CptMcCrae@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tepper should be gone. He sucks at this owner thing.

[–] Big-Toon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It isn’t even his fault, but he will be the scapegoat.

[–] yungredosrs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Shouldn’t be. Dude inherited a land slide of a situation. Feel terrible for him.

[–] herewegolittlemiss@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He seems one and done. The owner doesn’t care
