Hey there,

I’d like to launch a paid email newsletter but second guessing my B2C market. This newsletter would be the start to a much larger vision of a sports media company.

My market is parents of athletes with kids looking to get recruited to play sports in college. I already have a small audience with a Facebook group of about 2000 parents and email list of 1500.

I just watched a really good YouTube video with Sam Parr, the founder of The Hustle about business models for paid newsletters which has me rethinking if I can realistically make enough money in my niche.

In the video he gives this example:

Option 1 B2B buyer: 10 buyers at $20 Million

Option 2 B2C buyer: 100 buyers at $100

Obviously Option 1 is more profitable. I’m trying to go after Option 2 but it will take much longer to make money and even sustain or break even.

I’m not sure how I would implement Option 1 in my niche. Possibly go after the colleges, colleges coaches, athletic directors at the universities.

Anyways, would there be a way to stick with Option 2 the B2C buyers who would pay a much lower cost and still become profitable quickly?

Besides a monthly subscription fee I’d also like to sell digital products, advertising (will need a bigger audience), and some other things.

All you need to do is commit. Maybe track down a b2c nano influencer in the sports niche and launch an email gathering campeign. Don't second guess yourself, you got this!
