I want to get an everyday watch to put onto my Christmas list, though I am not looking for anything too fancy. What would be the best non-digital watches to ask for?

Ask this question on r/chinesewatches. You will get tons of great answers besides the boring old duro

For under $100 get a Casio Duro + a strap to swap

r/durogang

It's not Maybe, it's the Casio Duro!

  • Screwed down crown
  • Screwed down caseback
  • 200WR
  • Sunburst dial
  • Pretty diving strap
  • (bonus) Beautiful green bezel as an option

I have two. One military and one chronograph. Don’t get the chronograph. But I do love the look of this watch.

I’m a big fan lately of the Casio mrw200 series there’s quite a few colors and very affordable for approximately $25usd you get 100m water resistance, day and date, and it’s nice and comfortable

Casio Duro if you’re into bulkier dive watches, or a Timex Expedition (or weekender really) if you’re field watches / simple 3 handers.

Depending on your wrist size and your preference for quartz versus automatic, either a Casio MDV-106 "Duro", or an Invicta 8926OB. Either way you've got a little bit of cash left to get a decent Bond style NATO strap.

Best answers are casio duro or timex weekender with strap upgrades. All personal preference on those two watches based on wrist size dive vs field and then leather vs nato vs silicone

I know it’s not popular to say on this sub, but Invicta Pro Diver. Seiko movement, looks like a submariner so classic design, and reasonable price. I’d rather do that than an older Seiko 5 like others have suggested.

Seiko SNXS79, sometimes you can find them for less than 100.

If you are in the US get a citizen eco-drive you like from the officialwatchdeals store on ebay, they have great deals on citizen eco-drive watches like on this pilot style one. there's also an extra 30% off coupon at the moment for it and other models that brings the price down to $100.

Just don't hide it in a drawer in the dark when not wearing it, leave it on a shelf in a well lit room where it can get some daylight and it'll just work for decades.

There's also the Casio solar mtp-s120 that's around that price range and if you find the Casio Duro to be to big there's a smaller (40mm) casio mtd1053 that has the same other specs as the Duro.
