I was at this game. He played like 🚮. I’m no Knicks fan, but dude the over rated chants were warranted.
His first made fg was in the late 3rd or something. The spurs played like shit, and he wasn’t involved at all after his first few airballs in the 1st quarter.
He saved his stat line in the last 15 mins to mediocre. Stat line doesn’t tell the whole story bro.
Saying Wemby didn't play terribly is all I needed to read to know this post was invalid lol.

This is soft. If you were talking about how they treat Trae then you’d have a point. If Trae can literally get spit on during Covid and be fine then I’m sure Wemby can withstand the horrible oppression of overrated chants that happen in every stadium. He was not perfectly fine, he was bad. He was 1 for 9 from the field at one point and got his points in garbage time in the 4th.
The hate on Randle is warranted. He is a lazy player more often than not and crumbles mentally when things get tough. There is a multi-year sample size of this.
Wemby had a bad night, his stats were padded towards the end of the game, he is allowed to have a bag game nobody is perfect. Maybe it humbled him being in the worlds most famous arena.
Say what you will about us and our city, but we have a huge fan base and if you perform you will be king of the city. The fact that Randle went from MIP/all nba/allstar to being booed the next season, then coming back to be both an all star and all nba player says quite a bit about his character. He did not back down, he came back and proved himself. I give him respect for that.

A player who wins in New York would be king of the city, but you can't attract players because people don't want to be in that environment in the first place.
I get you being concerned about how fans treat their players, and in a vacuum I agree, I think sports fans can sometimes be too cruel towards even their favorite players and teams.
But the thing is NYC is special - Knicks fans have cultivated over decades a culture of wanting our players trying their hardest and playing well even in our lottery seasons. We wear our pride on our sleeves. So when Randle does something like shrug his shoulders and slowly walk in the last minute of a close game, of course we’re gonna be upset. Cause we wanna see them succeed. You call it negative and toxic, we call it unbridled passion.
