Sorry Noob here. This is my second time trying NixOS as a desktop. I just did a new installation of NixOS on my main pc.

In Arch my goto kernel was the Zen kernel. Is something similar available on NixOS ?

What kernels do you use / has got the most out of ?

Yep, https://nixos.wiki/wiki/Linux_kernel. I use config.boot.zfs.package.latestCompatibleLinuxPackages since I use ZFS.

Zen/liquorix kernels are packaged.

I use xanmod to get some more experimental things earlier but I don't think it does all that much.
