Through 9 games this year, Deandre Ayton is averaging .3 free throw attempts per game. You are not reading that incorrectly, there is a decimal in front of the 3.

He has attempted 3 total free throws with 86 shot attempts on the year so far.

Ayton has never been known to get to the line as he's never averaged more than 3 FTA per game in his entire career, but is there a precedent for a center playing 31+ minutes per game shooting decimal point free throw attempts?

This stat just seemed kind of insane to me. Is he just not playing around the rim at all with Portland?

Last year, Al Horford was the starting center for 63 games, averaged 30.5 minutes per games, and averaged 0.3 fta per game over the entire season. He went 15-21 from the line over the course of the season.
