By a very slim margin, most people voted to make !football@sopuli.xyz the next destination for this community.

Why does this community keep hopping around?

Edit: Oh I see, because the insurance is sitting down. Why wasn't there an option to move it to lemmy.world? There used to be a football community there, before it moved here.

Unlucky turn of events.

5 months ago, https://lemmy.world/c/football moved to lemm.ee, which was the second largest instance at the time, so a quite reliable choice
Lemm.ee announced a few days ago that they would close at the end of the month

It's not the only one, you can find a list of communities moving from lemm.ee on https://lemmy.world/post/30859458

Most of the active crowd of the community seems fairly opposed to going back to lemmy.world, they also voted to leave it in the first place.
