I'm 47 and am on the other side of a stroke (last Wed.) now (Feeling pretty good - my balance and motor skills suck).

I currently have:
Tudor BB GMT (Black Dial)
Tudor BB 41 (Black Dial)
Longines Hydroconquest 41 Grey dial with Grey Ceramic bezel
Seiko Bruce Lee Limited 5 Sports Edition Automatic
Dufrane Barton Springs II with Hill Country Wine Dial
Seiko Prospex SRPC93 (Save the Ocean dial)
Seiko Presage Automatic 1964 Limited Edition-SPB127J1
Casio G Shock 2100-1A

If I add something, I typically buy it second-hand and keep it under $3,000. I like unique dials, and I kinda want some sort of Panda. Open to anything though. Let's hear some suggestions for this brain-damaged watch fan.

Congratulations on surviving the stroke (and the other close calls).

As others have said: something to monitor your unreliable blood pumper is probably a smart move, but there's no reason you can't have both: treat yourself. Assuming you can afford it, watches are a good way to commemorate life events. Some events are bigger than others. The last nice piece I bought was to commemorate having enough money to buy a nice watch.

Congratulations on surviving your latest challenge. The Breitling Emergency popped into my head just as a smart ass answer, they're awfully expensive though, even second hand. With your track record who knows, you might need it!

Congrats and buy whatever you can afford that makes you happy! Life is too short to wait unless you have other financial commitments. Whether another watch marks the occasion once you have that many is something only you would know. Perhaps the others were also purchased to commemorate events!

Longines Heritage Classic Chronograph - panda-ish feel and it’s around that price new

I wish you good health!

forget about a new watch, go buy some lottery! 🤣

Jokes aside, good to hear you survived and are recovering. If you want a panda dial I would suggest the BALTIC TRICOMPAX for 1645 eur. A nice FURLAN MARRI sector dial is another great option for 1250 chf

Thanks! A salmon sector could be nice!

I did just go to Vegas and win 3k!

Is living a healthy lifestyle an option? (Assuming you don't have a genetic health condition)

[–] ginty@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I lift weights 3x a week, walk 3-4 times a week and do 8-10 hours of jiu jitsu a week, plus eat for my macros.

Maybe I should try not being healthy and see if that works better. 🤣

Damn, you're either really unlucky or eat like only meat, bear and smoke haha
