This legal framework is very far-reaching, and a major victory for the green movement. Many countries have political parties called 'The Green Party', nowhere else in the world do they have as much power as in the EU. 5 EU countries have Green Parties as part of governing coalitions - Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and Luxembourg. Of those 5, Germany's size means it carries outsize weight in EU affairs, so their Green Party is very consequential.

When you look through the list of measures this covers, you realize who big an impact this new legal framework will have. Just one commitment - restoring biodiversity in agriculture is huge. It means the end of industrialized chemical-dependent farming methods.
