I'm up to around 40 at this point. I just love watches whether it's $20 or $20,000. I don't have anything over $1000 but eventually right. I've learned all the basic maintenance from crystal replacement, batteries, bands, etc. Its an addicting hobby. I scour marketplace and online for rare finds and good deals. I'm looking for recommendations for a quality high capacity box. This $20 box is garbage.

Like 20, I think? I have a number of cheap Casios in various colors that I rarely wear. That's how I started the hobby in the first place. I also have a few that I keep for sentimental reasons, but don't wear that often. Those are all sitting in a drawer which is why I don't know the exact number.

My main rotation basically comes down to five or so. My Oris Big Crown, an Alpinist, a Seiko SRPG37 on any number of straps, and a couple of GShock square models get the vast majority of wear. I do plan to add more, but after buying my Oris I'm definitely switching to quality over quantity going forward and I already know what I want to work toward for the foreseeable future.

40+. Close to 50. I keep saying that I'll clean out the collection at some point and sell off a few of the ones the aren't getting much time on the wrist, but it feels wrong.

Yeah I feel that lol

Not as many as you

After of almost 40 years of collecting I have 117 that are in running good condition. I inherited a ton of watches from my grandfather and have been slowly fixing them as I get to them. No local watchmakers so I have had to learn how to do it myself. I have been a mechanic for 30 years so fixing watches comes naturally but the parts are way smaller than what I’m use to.

7 in 6 years.

Used to have 8 but my Seiko made in Malaysia started to add 3 minutes per day.

4 watches and now 5 years in the game, (M17) buying a christopher ward c60 trident pro 300 for my 18th and hoping to add a seiko next year

Most people get roasted here for having too many watches. I don't see the problem with it. I think I have around 36 ranging from $50-$7000. Watches just make me happy.

I have 5 right now. I don't like getting a new watch unless it has features than make it very distinct from my existing ones. Currently I'm hunting for a moonphase as my 6th watch since I don't have one of those yet and it'll be quite distinct from my other pieces.

I have 24. It’s to many but I have a hard time letting go

What brand is the watch 2nd to the bottom right? I love the crown and dial on this!

9 in total (going for 10) 5 are my dream watches (speedy, Seamaster, etc) and 4(5) are fun watches Corto Maltese Swatch, a G-Shock, etc.

Excellent variety

I just got back into the hobby earlier this year. I'm not sure if I should be proud or ashamed to admit this, but I'm already up to about 36 in my collection.

[–] moshedem@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Be proud. 6 months ago I only had a handful

[–] rhombomere@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I have over 100, all Gruens. If you want to know more, check out this post I made a while back. I really should update it.

They live in a vintage cabinet. Three of the four map drawers are filled with watches. All the other drawers are filled with ephemera, parts, etc.

~60 From 10$ to a couple k and I wear em all (with a few exceptions)

[–] Different_Roof_4533@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
  1. One for every hour of the day.

But really, 24. I tell myself it's only 13 because the cheapest 12 together cost the same as the average price of the most expensive 12.

I am only very mildly uncomfortable with this quantity.

[–] mrhippo3@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I answer this question truthfully while giving little information. When asked this impolite question, I reply, "I have more than one."

[–] molodjez@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Always wore watches.

  1. As a child a simple childs watch to learn to read the clock- maybe mickey mouse watch or something
  2. Then I got a Casio G-Shock in Orange - I fell in love
  3. For my 18th birthday I got a minimal silver and superflat Skagen with a Milanese band - loved it but wrecked it
  4. During my times as a student I wore a Casio see image
  5. Now I got a Samsung Smartwatch and a Citizen Ecodrive Promaster Montbell - the latter I wear daily

Cheers!
