Is it because they're potentially going to have points deducted from them?

[–] AlpacamyLlama@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I fail to see why I should be worried.

[–] DekiTree@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

does it really matter, they arent gonna get relegated anyway even with a points deduction

[–] DildoFappings@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Is anyone gonna start a study on how City and newcastle owners funded their success? This is a really stupid thing to do because almost every billionaire has blood on their hands. Throughout history i wouldn't be surprised if the Saudi royal family has killed the population equivalent to a small country. The abramovic news is only news because it's all politics.

The least they can do is bring in some consistency.

Where are the deductions of MC?

[–] TitanX11@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Source: Trust me bro.

[–] treq10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ll take the points deduction if it means City get blasted back to the Stone Age

[–] BooshAC@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wish it was last year when it would have got them relegated

[–] Farasatkhan1128@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Someone’s definitely need Man city lawyers 😅

Does 442 not have a subeditor who knows what the phrase "frothing at the gash" means?

I can excuse a writer thinking it's similar to frothing at the mouth, but it's not.

Also Todd Bohelly? Abramocivc? Who checks this stuff before it goes online? If you're not going to pay a sub to make your publication look respectable at least make your monkey typists use google docs' free spell check.

And yet, Manchester City remain unpunished

[–] wm_1176@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

One of many, many, many revelations from this

Was he trying to hit a word count or something? Truly an awfully written article

[–] Yobber1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Great…now do Man City

[–] Pamplemouse04@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Holy crap that’s an awfully written article

[–] Sapaio@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Seems like big trouble. After seeing news around Chelsea women CL match. Would the women side also be effected by the investigation and punishment because the finance must be linked somehow.

[–] yesimhilarious@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They are going to get points deducted now because of the Abramovich era that ended last year?

[–] mrkoala1234@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just a point won't do anything. Why not impose 2 season ban on transfers... Only allow Academy kids to replace ppl who left for free or injured. This would benefit home grown and the clubs in the long run.

[–] Snadadap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What's the point of a deduction now for historical offences under previous ownership? Shouldn't the trophies they won in the time period be vacated?

[–] Silantro-89@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Chelsea risking a point deduction in 2083 going by how fast the PL is to investigate issues.

[–] doktor-frequentist@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2083

That's aggressively optimistic...

[–] mtown4ever@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Unless it's Everton, then it's full speed ahead.

The spelling, grammar and overall writing in this article is dreadful. It smacks of shoddy journalism based upon nothing

[–] EasyDreda@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I just love that "investigation" was done by a NEWSPAPER....

[–] awesomesauce88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Meanwhile Man City continues to go unscathed for hundreds of infractions…

[–] Greasy_Boglim@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Frothing at the gash to know who ok’d this article lmao

[–] VidProphet123@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I need to see more articles like this…. But for Man City

[–] NotClayMerritt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not saying we're completely innocent or anything but there's a reason these stories continue to pop up and we continue to ignore Manchester City. And it's not just us either. We're going to hear about Everton again soon. And Newcastle's Saudi links again. Sometimes these stories are just simply planted. Some journalist is going to do a large piece about how football is financially broken and use Italy as the prime example and never mention Manchester City once.

[–] Muisyn@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Did I just read an article about financial crimes in football that seriously used the term frothing at the gash? wtf fourfourtwo?

[–] tibicentibicen@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Absolute shit writing

[–] Weez-eh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

"Investment firms based in tax haves who are simply frothing at the _gash for advice"

'Author' is a simpleton

[–] Dartiboi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Omg thank you, what a horrible sentence to read

[–] Dinoapolis27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How do I upvote this a million times?

[–] McGrathLegend@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Today I learned that Adam Clery left WhatCulture for FourFourTwo

[–] The_prawn_king@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wonder what exactly the point of a point deduction to a club that has none of the people here that committed the breaches.

[–] vulturevan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We're such trendsetters 😎

[–] Rogue_Pedaler@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Facing sanctions for something that happened like 5 or 10 years ago, at least five coaches ago and a previous owner ship group seems completely asinine.

None of the people involved with anything that happened or still at the club.

[–] TheBatPencil@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Or it could be that they backchanneled the money required to pay Hazard’s agent, through these holding companies, so that a) they could avoid paying any tax on it and b) they wouldn’t have to declare it to football’s governing bodies

Hey, this is awfully familiar.

[–] FrogsOnALog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Judging by the comments it’s a good thing I never give FourFourTwo a click

[–] middlequeue@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ummm, there was an investigation via Cyprus Confidential but I haven't heard a thing from any regulatory body. Awful state of this article aside, how are they facing a points deduction when there's been no charge or even an investigation at this point? If something comes out of this it's going to be a long while before anything happens.

[–] Fit-Picture-4582@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I guess a draw with city wasn’t in the arabs agenda.

[–] Coulstwolf@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lol remember the articles when abramovic first got sanctions the one saying we’d go bankrupt, what happened with that? Absolutely nothing will come of this

[–] lucash7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Right.

Points deduction for CFC, but a bank account and routing number for Man City….

🙄

[–] NotClayMerritt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just going to quickly editorialise here, but I have no idea why you’d tell on yourself like that

He says as he's writing an entire article that have Chelsea linked to a bigger International scandal that the Premier League would have undoubtedly found out about anyway and triggered an inevitable investigation.

[–] MikeoPlus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah right next thing they're gonna try and say is that the British invented the term soccer

[–] WeSavedLives@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

All well and good while he as still pumping money into the sport. Now he's gone its a problem, huh?

[–] calewis10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Morality aside, to me it doesn’t seem like the amounts would be enough to put them in the red and fall foul of FPP?

[–] andafunda@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Chelsea have points?

[–] MealieAI@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Who writes this shit?

[–] deflorie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do anyone remember not too long ago, when the same was said about Man City. Yeah.
