Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

Hi guys,

I have an esspresso machine that I would like to automate a bit, but it has capacitive buttons (like a touchscreen).

I've tried aluminion foil from the battery of a switchbot bot to the button, but it doesn't really work. And cou;dn't really find anything else online.

Any idea if there's a way to press one?

Any other solutions or maybe a product designed specifically for this?

Thanks!

Maybe the end of a stylus designed for a phone/tablet glued to a switch bot?

You need to be actually holding the stylus.

If you hold the stylus with something that is isolating, it will not work anymore..

I know some basic kettles and drip brew coffee machines are set to start as soon as they get power. So a basic smart plug works to initiate them. I'm not sure about an espresso machine.

Mine doesn't... Needs a button press to turn on

I've heard that a coin battery works, and a small one can be glued onto a switchbot's finger

I've seen and tried this one (and the one in the comments in the page), but it doesn't work. Only if I touch it myself..
