You need to be actually holding the stylus.
If you hold the stylus with something that is isolating, it will not work anymore..
I know some basic kettles and drip brew coffee machines are set to start as soon as they get power. So a basic smart plug works to initiate them. I'm not sure about an espresso machine.

Tried with several types referanced on the web that would mimig the body resistance but couldn't get it to work..
I've seen and tried this one (and the one in the comments in the page), but it doesn't work. Only if I touch it myself..
